Thread: Additional random quirks of the Character Transfer service.

Yesterday just before the weekly pvp event I was standing there at Tyrena starport, noticing most people were adorning their Alliance Ace helmets, so being the little sheep that I am I decided to put mine on.


Now already..I had noticed that since transferring, ithad bleached all my clothes. My favourite Black Heavy flightsuit...is now a sickly shade of yellow, but this little featurette is the icing on the cake. So I'm there, doing a little dance (quite literally.It looked a little 'fruity' according to some people) but anyway, someone on TS asks me where I got the different helmet. I'm like "Er..the Admiral guy gave it me" and then the next thing I know, is I'm getting tells from people asking me were I got the helmet.


Within a few moments, I decide to actually do what I should have noticed already and take a look at it compared with everyone elses. Low and behold...it does look different and infact appears as if someone painted over the red bits while my character was being transferred.


So in conclusion;


1.I've just made a short story long and...

2.Transferring your toon appears to recolour clothing, both custom made and default reward style clothing.

3.I kinda like it

These are the the kinds of things I didn't see. I brought my character over before I started flying with him. And, the only 'clothes' I brought were my Pre-CU armor sets. Once I 'refitted' them, the spawned to a normal coloring.

BTW leaph, you really should get your other pilot badges, ill lay 10 to 1 odds that you will be able to pilot your A wing at novice privateer or imperial pilot.

Imp Flight Deck Officer "Er..dude, thats an A-wing"


Me: "No it's not..its a TIE Fighter"


IFDO: "No...that really is an A-wing"


Me: "It's a 'special' type of TIE Fighter designed to look like an A-wing....er, the Emporer gave it me..heh."


IFDO: "Oh ok..cleared for landing"


Seriously, if I went for the other badges, I'd do it ye olde skool style and use the faction's specific ships. I'm actually thinking I could do with a break from the A-wing for a little while, at least not fly it as much. I'm realising I'm missing out on a wider spectrum here of other old skool fighters . I can't wait til my standard X-wing is finished kitted out.


What I have decided to do is, get my alt account activated and start up on SS so I can fly the Vaksai. It hasn't been used in like five months. I guess I'll do that after I finish this x-wing though.


Do you think this 'being able to fly other faction ships' thing is a bug to do with character transfer or a bonus feature they didn't tell us about? I mean, I'm 90% sure it's an accident but it does seem appealling I'll admit. After all...we did pay $50
