Thread: solution to under powered ships, and alot of fun! (Gotta See)
i had an idea.
many ppl are upset that the master multiplayer ships get pwned by fighters......
heres my solution.
Im thinking about creating an event. Maybe if we could get a few ship crews together and a few fighter pilots we could have some fun.
This is what im thinking :
2 teams ( imps vs rebs or whatever)
1-2 multiplayer master ships per team
5 or more fighters per team
(numbers could change based on how many people sign up)
Now this is how i propose to make things fair.
I make the parts, you guys use them. that simple
maybe ill give mark 5 shields (2400/2400) to the master multiplayer ships, but fighters only get mark 2 shields (600/600).
Multiplayer master ships might get mark 4-5 weapons (2500 or 3000 damage max)
and fighters might get mark 1 or 2 weapons (500 or 1100 max damage)
The same would go for every other part. I would have to do some testing to make these ships balanced but it would certainly make mass multiplayer ships worth flying.
And to make it all worth while i would give the winning team a couple million of creds and some very nice parts.
This is just an idea, maybe someone has tried it before. What do you guys think ?

Other than that, I would limit folks to iconic droid programs at Tier2. If you can get a few guilds together, they can enforce the fairness rules (or deal with those who play unfair).
However, if you drop weapons down on them, it can be tons of fun. We had a POB war last weekend (4 vs 2, level 5 guns) and it was one of the funniest things I've been a part of. These huge, practically immobile ships slugging it out with each other.. think we're gonna do one with novice chassis and POBs with weapon limits at level 3 this weekend and see how it goes.
Good luck on your event. I expect it'll be a lot of fun for you all.

Hmmm...exactly what a capitol ship battle should be.
kdo, I think your idea is awesome. I wish someone would do that on Bloodfin. I can't imagine people would cheat, I mean I think everyone would do it for fun and the RP aspect of it.

What's what those 11 previous weeks were for!
I'd love to get in on an event like this, especially as a gunner. Sounds fabulous n'stuff.

I think that you have a wonderful idea. The only thing missing is verification. You can't verify that people actually use your parts. Without verification, you never know if you have a fair game.

Yes and no.
A shipwright can build weapons that have a min and max damage very close to one another. I've made mark 1 blasters with min damage enhancers that had a min/max rating within 0.2 points. When you have someone shoot you with these ONCE, you know exactly how much damage you will take per shot (watch your shields in the Ctrl+V window)Give those to everyone, and if there's any "concerns"...stop the fighting, let your shield regen and make the suspected cheater hit you ONCE. If they're cheating, you'll know.
I also made another mark 1 blaster (disruptor?)that had low min/max damage and an effectivness to shield of 0.184. I used the worst materials i had, and used experimentation onlyon mass and energy. I dont remember the exact stats, but i think the DPS to shields was under 300. Of course once your through the shields, the DPS was about 4x higher...but that's what the armor is for ![]()
