I use micro chaff at roughly 5k mass per launcher and youy can get 15 in a pack. However, I have had someone tell me that em emmitters or something like that that only weighs 2k mass work well in PVP.

Standard chaff all the way. Seriously, it seems to work fine vs. anything. The best counter measure which is 100% fool proof though is avoiding the lock in the first place. Easier in 1v1 situations. In pvp events though you're almost certainly going to attract locks

EM emitters are about 34.5k mass. Their ammo has the highest effectiveness, but the launchers are too heavy. IFF Confusers are the other high-end countermeasure, those are about 14k mass. Both have pretty low ammo counts.

If it fits, I use sensor decoy, about 2.2k mass. If that does not fit, I use chaff, about 900 mass. If I could squeeze it on, I would use Microchaff.

Are you flying a Royal Guard Interceptor or something? Since they are so hard to hit due to their bugged hitbox. A few of us carry missiles just for those.

Ahhh my mistake, thanks. It's the Sensor decoys that are low mass. I'm old and get confused easily

as a matter of fact im flying a heavy z95, its just that at least on bria, most people i met in ds would rather just shoot a missile than use skill to kill

Using missiles is a skill. So is packing chaff. Its a skill called equipping your ship for combat.

Course, I'm too cheap to use missiles myself, hehe.

yes, properly outfitting your ship is a skill, but you know what i mean, it takes hardly any skill to get a missile lock, getting a hit with blasters is much harder. and i never needed countermeasures before, i just started to get into pvp, and in pve you dont need a cm launcher, you can evade missiles, but in pvp i can't evade them for some reason
