I say let it take as long as possible, otherwise it will just go live buggy as hell and you wont like it as much.

I hate bug-fixing publishes that are full of bugs and end up breaking even more than they were meant to fix.

Sovvie you should know that if they fixed everything and made the game the best in the biz they wouldn't have jobs as dev's or patch teams now would they?

Plus people would still find somthing to complain about because it is in our nature.

Hmm... That's not good. 17K worth of damage = 0.8 seconds from an average Heavy X or Krayt.

Heh, when I'm running with EO4 at .56 thrust while a70+ YPR,120-130 speed engine has me cartwheeling like an X-Wing at 900+ speed, I wish you luck at hitting something OTHER than my broadside overlap zone.

Not a problem.
Any X-Wing pilot who routinely kills JSFs, Bels and RGIs can do that.
edit:
How are your turret gunners going to hit anything while you're evasive?

Simple, I don't fly the Nova in anything other than mass furballs.Player POBs are royally underestimated and are usually not the top priority in terms of target selection. The result is, they go for the guys in the A-Wings, Advanced X-Wings, and Vaksai first, leaving us alone till we draw too much attention to ourselves, then its evade like crazy till we get a clear shot to boost out and come around.
Works pretty well. Every so often, you'll get a guy with enough guts to brave the hail of purple bolts and you're toast, but more often than not, especially with my Null Bolts being speed capped, the rapid stream of purple haze keeps most pilots unwilling to risk a stray luckshot.
Most of my primary damage is in the missiles. A trio of IR IIs at 5600 each make for a very sorry Imperial with no countermeasures. Even with them, its not a sure bet.

This isn't entirely true.
They would still need to fix bugs during testing of new content patches and expansions, which would be much more interesting and frequent.
I'd be happy to buy a $10-20 expansion every 4-6 months if they fixed the rest of the broken and bugged parts of this game.
They'd also get a lot of people coming back to play, meaning they'd make a lot more money, which would allow better expansions making more income, making better expansions, which would....
Oooh, a good business model, wow, and I've never even taken a business class.
If we could only convince SOE/LA....
