Thread: Problems with droid commands

Hi All,

I decided to try EO4 on my Eta-2. Thus I put cert5 reactor with a bit more than 14k output, run RO4 on it, then trigger EO4 and WO3. Everything goes fine but when I jump from deep space back one of programs usually stops and if I trigger it again I start getting all kind of energy problems (componetns getting disabled, etc.). Anyone has any idea what I do wrong or is there a workaround?

Thanks.

Just making a hyperspace jump shouldn't reset any of your droid commands. Are you using any of your "special abilities"? Some of these can reset everything.

Not using any special abilities - only droid commands. My engine max speed often returns to it's default max speed when I jump from the Deep Space (this happens if I ran EO3 and EO4).

But then even if I try to re-run all programs (starting from RO4) I don't have enough energy or get message that my droid interface is disabled (it doesn't have enough energy according to the V-screen) as if it tries to run program on top of the 'reset' programm and not override/rerun it.

I believe leaving Deep Space resets droid commands.

That's fine with me (altough droid programms do not always get reset when I jump from the Deep Space).

What I can't understand is why I can't re-run all the same programs that were working before I jumped in? And non of the components is damaged (naturally) because I left Deep Space.

If you jump out of (leaving)Deep Space your ship is automaticly repaired. When a ship is 100% repaired all droid programs shut down and you will no longer have a PvP status if you declared in the first place. Perhapse this is what you are experiencing.

Besides my engine sometimes has stats as if I just ran an engine overload program (a little bit damaged) when I just jumped from the Deep Space.

If the programs are just shut down shouldn't I be able to rerun same programs in exactly the same sequence?

Engine OL 4 and weapon OL 4 can (most likely will) cause bugs with your ship like shutting down every component including the droid interface and no way to get them back on line even after a repair. If this happens there is only 2 things you can do to fix the bug (This has been an ignoredbug since JTL beta).

  1. Eject/get killedand repair ( If you do this make sure you are in deep space when you eject)

  2. strip your ship and deed/generate the ship

I knoticed some people on the forums claming to use engine OL 4 but I tried once again last night and it bugged out my ship.

*BUZZ* So sorry, thank you for playing.

Also of use, and substantially less destructive are the overload special abilities.

Emergency Weapons, Emergency Speed, Emergency Shields. Rebel Vampiric repair and In Space Repair/Reload commands also work.

Please enlighten. This has been a thorn in my side ever since I got 4444.

The culpret is EO4, which has been giving people problems by not properly turning off when it should. The x10 multiplier on Engine energy drain is nasty and can shut a ship down if WO3 and RO3/4 are not running. When WO and RO turn off (leaving DS/Repairing/landing) and EO4 doesn't, the drain on the reactor is way too much for the reactor to handle, and items shut down from the bottom one to the top one. If the (Engine energy drain times 10) is greater than the (reactor base power generation rate) then everything below the engine shuts down and the Engine runs at partial power. Leaving DS, repairing, nor landing will reset EO4. Pilot special tactics (eshields/thrust, etc) will, and re-deeding the ship will.

I hope this answers you question about how and why your ship is shutting down on you.

That is pretty much clear to me wat I can't understand is why running RO4 again does not help to reactivate ship parts...
