I can take like 15 on 1 of any type of tier 3 ship, and Im 2222 pilot, but I cant take on more then like 5 A-Wings for too long because they're so damn hard to hit. Any tips?

For starts, what kind of ship are you flying?

What kind of ship are you flying?

The A-Wing silhouette is so small that even when you have your target aligned exactly with where it's telling you to aim, you'll often miss. So it can help to adjust your crosshairs a bit to make sure your lasers are actually hitting.

If you're flying a fast and maneuverable enough ship (Interceptor and Advanced for sure, possibly Dunelizard or TIE/In as well), you should be able to keep right on an A-Wing's tail and take it out. Even this takes longer than dropping an X-Wing or Y-Wing, but normally you're both whipping around so fast not much can hit you.

If you're just having a terrible time with them, you can always disable the engines first and then pick them off as sitting ducks.. might think it wouldn't make much difference, but if you're in some heavy fighter/bomber that turns like (to borrow my favorite handling metaphor yet) a dying huff dun, it can save you some serious time.

There's always missiles, too.

They are A-Wings and aren't meant to be hit. However, it's not too hard to shoot them down. Just track one at a time. Also, get yourself a flight computer and droid interface. You'll never survive without one.

droid programs are absolutley nessesary at teir 3 and above. Theirs not a time I enter any of my ships, that I do not set all the droid programs first thing!

A-wings can be hard to hit. Do not trust the "lead indicator." Instead, you have to aim somewhere between the A-wing and the lead indicator. What point in between depends on the angle he is flying. It is very subjective, and changes very quickly due to the speed of the A-wing and how rapidly it can change direction.

Use the lead indicator just as a guide of where he will turn. Periodically the A-wings will fly straight and if you can line up directly behind him, just a few shots will do him in. I always target the engines first--you can disable their engines faster than you can blow one up--and once they're sitting still, they're easy to finish off.

I would definitely get a droid interface, and find a flight computer. The DI only takes up a little bit of mass, but you may have to do some readjusting of your components. Get Weapon Overload, Engine Overload (which you have as an Imperial), and then Capacitor Overload and Reactor Overload (from a Privateer). I also enjoy the Capacitor to Shield shunt, and the Rebel shield programs, if you have room in your flight computer.

Good luck!

You think A Wings are hard? Try the tier 5 Droid Fighters in Endor... *shudder*

I take out awings very efficiently. Aim 75% of the way between the awing and the lead indicator.

I usually just slow down and let them joust me. I've got some mean firepower, so I usually just tear them up on every pass they make, even for tier5 A-wings. That and target their engines.

TIE/IN

Missles always do crappy damage, and I barely have enough mass to hold the minimum(front/back armor, capacitor, weapon, reactor, engine, and shield). The only extra thing I have is a countermeasure launcher and my mass is 39183/39633.
