I'm playin around with an Adv X-Wing, and I'm having issues filling it.

I'm sitting on:

35k Gen 22k Mass reactor

RE'd QID

RE'd Reward level 8 Shields

Crafted MarkIII Armor F/R

RE'd Level 6 cap

RE'd Level 4 reward booster

RE'd Pre-nerf DI(*wink*)

3x RE'd level 8 borstels

Crafted chaff launcher

I have 11k of mass left to play with. No I'm not into missles, where can I improve a component by using a higher level?

My Reactor powers everything(O4s) without ever overloading it, my engine is pretty "uber", my shields are 2550/2550, Armor is 1200/1200, Cap is impossible to drain and has 1400 energy, booster has 14.3 Burn time, DI is 13.1, The guns self explainitory, and chaff...

Where can I put that 10k to use? I'm obviously overlooking something, it's driving me nuts. I'm too used to shoehorning things into my A-Wing.

Try using a lvl 10 engine instead of a lvl 8 on the x-wing? It has more than enough room for one.

Put 3L10 guns in it, then you'll need to shoehorn the rest in.

If you only have 11k mass left and want to shoehorn something in get a nice lvl 10 engine...besides a qidRE is really only for true fighters imho(pvp wise)...the X-wing is ajack of alltrades sort of thingso the little extra only helps.

I was debating that, I have a setup "almost" ready for RE that would give me 83/84/82 PYR and almost 100 speed out of a level 10 engine, but frankly, 104spd, 75/76/75 PYR is working out very well for me. It furballs nicely, has a respectable speed, and is small enough to transfer in and out of my A-Wing

Think 82+ pyr would be a bit touchy aye?

I am almost done with a couple of level 10 REs, but those are slated for a B-Wing *grin*

Not for an X-wing, it wouldn't be. The X-wing can use the extra edge to keep up with the light interceptors in PvP, as you already have to overcome the hitbox size.

My first few months of PVP experience was in a firespray with an RE'd level 6 with 69 PYR. X-Wing is NOT a large hitbox lol.

75 PYR almost seems overkill to me, i can darn near 180 this thing, and I can keep a bead on most of the JSF fliers here, since all they seem to know is spin spin spin. Boost away, maybe shrug off a blow to my shields, turn back, shield adjust front, and then joust.

Seems silly, but hah it works.

I'll try the level 10 engine when i get the last part in place, but I have a feeling, it'll make me sea-sick lol.

I fly a standard T/I. Mostly for the small hitbox and speed mod.

Let me tell you, theres nothing worse thana turn fight withan Adv X with a lvl 10 RE engine in it... Just imagine a spinning full-auto shotgun.

*shivers*

Thank god they're huge.

Aye, mostly my X is only used in PVP if I'm faction farming and someone gets too close for comfort. If I'm after full on pvp, I zip around DS in my A-Wing.

But as I said Ill try out that Level 10, but I'll have to try and not get dizzy haha.

I actually haven't slapped a level 10 in an X-wing yet. Haven't had the patience lately to loot-farm to get a decent one. I know I've been encouraging other X-wing pilots on Starsider to do likewise, since it gives a nice edge to the X-wing pilot: Superior firepower + a match for turning.

/shudder

Can't imagine PvPing in a Firespray with a level 6 engine. I would't imagine PvPing in a Firespray at all if I wasn't so scared of Adonis's rig, and the one kill I got in mine in DS.

I really don't find a level 8 sufficient on Starsider in an X-wing. In an A-wing, heavy Z-95, or whatnot, sure. On the X-wing--she's still a bit sluggish trying to keep up with pilots who have their ships well-equipped. That doesn't mean it can't be done, but damn--makes it hard to get a bearing on those fast-moving TIE Interceptors and TIE Advanced. I actually have a better record in my X-wing shooting down Actises than TIEs. Go figure.

Common sense I'd say.
