Thread: No Xp in space?

Yes your still getting Xp in space it just doesnt give a message anymore even after the FIX the did last night.


I kept having to look at my skill tree to see if the numbers were moving and they did. Still i dislike the way we are not getting a system message for it. i also did some ground killing for a bit on a diferant server and the way xp is displayed is diferant there also no system message instead a xp amount would pop up over the mob when they died that probly why we in space see nothing.

I think pub 22 screwed up xp in space too? I was killing tier 4/5 in space with a passenger and neither of us were getting xp.

dbl check your totals in ctrl + s supposedly no xp msg but you are getting xp

Yes, it doesn't show on the screen anymore.

It seems they also nerfed space xp? Before I was getting 10k xp on Tier 4/5 (Double mastery pilot) and after I retook a friend up in space and double checked I was getting 2k and he was getting the same amount?

Yeah, found that out the hard way earlier too, realized after killing several ships that I "appeared" to be getting no xp, so I got mad and quit playing. Later I checked and realized that I had indeed gotten xp, just hard to tell how much now.

Well they pretty much admitted they took the off screen away so you wouldn't notice your XP is nerfed in grp. They said it was so the indivual player would not be consternating on his own exp but more on the exp you get from being grouped.

Since grouped you can kill more faster its ok to half each players exp per kill (there words not mine).

Daoc was like this its why i mainly leveled solo on that game because groups you had to kill 2 times as many mobs to get the same exp as you would if you were grouped.

personally i donate mind not seeing the system message onscreen.

but it does seem more of a lets try to hide the fact that grouped your not making the exp per kill that you used to thing.

Just candy coated to make it sound nice.

XP has not changed in space. The spam has just gone away. And I, for one, am thankful for this. I have an XP Monitor at the bottom of my screen to tell me how far I am from the next box. I don't need to be spammed with XP messages right in front of the ships I am trying to shoot.



Is that why I was getting 10kish and now getting 2k? Doesn't matter for my master pilot, but I do have an alt that was going to try and work on pilot.

Check your actual skill window note how much pilot xp you have kill a fighter then subtract the origonal xp number you noted from the new number... I think you will find you are getting the same XP if not /bug it.

Just because the message is gone dosn't mean that you are not getting XP.

Oh and with things the way they are... it is most likely best not to shout nerf without proof... no need to through gas on the fire.

Have the group XP changes affected the way XP works on the POB ships?


I like taking folks out in my YT-1300 and getting them interesting in flying by blasting a few fighters out in Endor. It was good XP for them, giving them a leg up on the profession. Now it seems that they were getting much, much lower XP. Where they used to get 1200 to 2400 points per kill, it appeared to be more like 400 points per kill.


Anyone else notice this?

From what I understand, XP is now split amoung group members. So if you take four people up in your POB and you kill a target worth 4000 XP, you each get 1000 XP now instead of 4000 like you used to get. I think this may well be one of the dumbest ideas they have had yet. Talk about encouraging people NOT to group. Jeez.

That's the way POBs have ALWAYS worked.

Really? I thought when I was in a POB we were all getting full XP per ship killed like on the ground...well, shows what I know, sorry for the bad info.
