Thread: Kashyyyk Station Quest Update

From the look of things, the bug that prevented pilots who told Eyma the Ghrag mercenaries were thin and weak from continuing in the Heavy X-Wing/Vaksai/Crimson TIE quest has been fixed, but there's another layer to it that's still preventing some of us from moving along with the quest.

The problem lies in the fact Eyma's leg of things is on the ground while Rian of Kashyyyk station's leg is in space--and, when you drop your pilot squad to pick up another, space missions are reset while ground ones are not. So if you've switched squads since encountering the initial bug, the two halves of this quest will no longer be in synch, leaving you bugged in a new but also unbypassable fashion.

This is my guess as to what's going on, anyway, but I could still use confirmation on that. So I need two things from you guys: first, if you've been able to move past the original bug since publish 19, let me know. And if you haven't been able to progress, I need to know whether you've switched squads since initially getting stuck.

I've made an initial bug report to the devs, but knowing this for certain will help me be able to push for a follow fix. Thanks everyone.

Remember Tomo, that this applies to people who attempt to re-do the CPG missions after a switch as well. Might be useful to find out if we're supposed to be doing that or not. I think for certain they need to fix the "wipe" that happens when you drop a Pilot prof, as it applies to this quest.

As both a badge collector and a die-hard pilot that wishes to have flown everything in the game on a single character I hope they'll fix it so you can switch and get the 2 other ships.

This could give us the option to regrind pilot to get a spare X/RG/Vaksai, but they could block that by checking for the badge.

Well if you're Freelance you can already get 2 of 3, but the whole situation is a bit wacky in any case.

Right, which makes it difficult for me propose a solution (e.g., don't reset this quest when you switch) instead of just explaining the problem (people still can't complete the quest). I'm planning on making a few different proposals, at least one of which should jibe with their idea of how all this stuff is supposed to work.

Waited long enough to learn about the weak bug, not long enough to learn about that trick. So I got the heavy X as ground/space rebel. :/

If I had to pick 1 of the three it would be the Heavy X, so I can live with it. But since it is currently bugged I can at least post how I would like to see it fixed.

Here's my take on the whole thing (and a solution)

In the context of RotW quests, you're not supposed to be doing them over again, that's pretty obvious, even though as pilots we're used to that methodology. They need to adjust the flag, and a check for a flag. When you complete CPG, it trips the flag, opening the t5 duties, advanced ship missions, etc. If the flag is tripped, then Rian needs to check for it when you contact her, and not allow a restart of the CPG once it's done. It would be helpful if the CPG missions weren't subject to the Pilot Drop Wipe too, but I'm not sure how that works, so I don't know if its feasible.

Was bugged with the duty mission loop, changed pilot squads, went back after pub 19. Was able to redo the first part of the quest. Rian sends me to Emya (note this starts another mission "phase"). Emya sends me to Rian. Rian sends me to Emya (starting the above mentioned "phase" again".

When I get home tonight I'll go back and get the exact phase wording and number

I'm also still trapped in the same loot. I did the quest as a Freelance pilot and got the Vaksai, and Emya won't help me as an Imperial or Rebel pilot.

If you think about ALL of the JTL quests, there's a sense that you are supposed to be able to do multiple ones. After all, everything resets when you drop a squadron, and the master XP seems to encourage multiple masteries.

The easiest solution is to remove Emya from quest at all - just run the entire mission from Kashyyyk station.

I was bugged with the "weak" answer since may 6th. On sunday i dropped imperial ace pilot to do my third imp squadron. Kashyyyk space station got reset but eyma did not. So the station tells me to go talk to him as though its my first time, but he still says "hey if you want work, go talk to riann" like nothing has changed.

All i want in this entire game is the royal guard interceptor. Its 75% of the reason why i bought ROTW. Do everything you can Tomo

What about dropping an NPC in his tent that can reset all the flags for the quest if you dont have a "heavy ship" badge?

A minor issue, but when I was an Imperial Pilot, I did the Royal TIE quest and got the Heavy X-Wing badge (how, I don't know..). So I went back as instructed to the Imperial station in Kashyyyk as a Freelancer to get my badge fixed and of course, it won't take. So that's broken as well.

Yep, I dropped rebel ace, went imp to get the JSF, went back to rebel pilot, and am stuck in the loop.

I redid the space part, the chick at the SP tells me to go talk to Eyma, and Eyma tells me to go talk to the SP chick.

The space stuff reset but Eyma on the ground did not. I have the quest to "speak with Eyma" in my datapad so mabe the devs could auto reset Eyma for anyone that has such quest.

The thing is, they can't turn this into a repeatable quest. It would be the only RotW quest to be like that, and even though its a Space quest, they will not consider letting us have access to an easily repeatable source of a guaranteed loot item (re doing them to get multiple Ionic Pulse guns would be more than tempting for a lot of pilots, especially since to get that you would only need to grind pilot far enough to get Rian to give missions, if you were using a decked out heavy noob ship.

They squashed the bug that let you repeat Nym's Starmap for a reason, and they aren't going to open up a can of worms with this one. Easily exploitable if repeatable. It should be fixed to allow people to start and complete it without worry, or bugs, but not to repeat it.
