Thread: PvP Zone, The Way It Should Be.

Reducing damage may improve game play, but it will also reduce realism. I always supported realism over game play. Although, I wish we could have both. Rather than nerf space combat, I'd like to see some realistic damage in the ground game too.

Maybe a little nitpicky, but realism dictates that the first time that Womp Rat killed you on Tatooine - you were dead. End of story.
I understand your point, but gameplay will always take a back seat to realismfor reasons like this.
You're right, I'll always be in the minority, asking for realism first. It's just not practical. But yeah, I'd like a game where that first Womp Rat means I'm dead. And a clone is a real clone, someone who looks like me but has no skills and starts over. Maybe replace some equipment with insurance and a few credits from my Last Will, but .... Kind of odd to use the word 'realism' in a fantasy game to begin with, but you know what I mean. There are so many reality breakers in SWG as it is. I'd have to agree that a happy medium is the best I can hope for.
Personally, Ive been rooting for realism all along.. But there's nothing realistic about a heavy attack ship ( IE B-wing, tie-bomber, rixyerhk) being blown to tiny bits in 2-3 shots.. Or even the YT, I think a couple people may remember Han Solo's escape while piloting the Millenium falcon, he takes quite a few shots from an ISD in the tail. 2-3 shots for standard fighter/interceptor? Okies... But not on heavy fighters.

Jabba's must choose a side before entering, as was set before.
Static or dynamic (dynamic is better) spawn point for *faction* 2km behind what should be considered the boundary at each end, where no ship may cross the other sides boundary, nor cross after having left it, but free to fly in until they do, in fact, cross it.
We need a PvP balancing, not a damage reduction!
Balancing of the different ship classes, and of the items to allow us to be able to take more damage in larger ships, even the SP ones. A generic % shield boost by mass would do nicely.
Imagine, on Ahazi, the Empire is statistically Kicking The Snot out of the Rebel Alliance in this zone. On the ground, Bestine continues to see a rise in Storm Trooper presence, as well as Mos Eisley, there's a raid on the Royal Retreat on Naboo....
The Alliance sees the failing battles and rallies a score or two of heroes, and goes into the Zone and strikes a huge blow to the empire. 80% of the Ground Troops are called to space to help out in the effort, leaving several Imperial Outposts left open for attack, and halting all Imperial Offensives on the ground....

I don't know how SOE missed this but...
We'd love a kill/killed counter, right at the top of the /ex window, as well as a Times Visited DS, or ^that zone if you create it.

Interesting.....yet numbers aren't really going to change with this - your going to see people load in the "safe" zone, see tons of enemies, and decide to hyperspace out.
Yes, you will... I guess they didn't really want to PvP then did they..?
Still others will scout it out, hyper, gather a group, and come back...
Will it matter? No.
Because it will be a consented zone, one way or the other.
Fix it so that it isn't 2-3 shot kills.
