Once I get to work on farming loot for my RE10 engine project, what are the highest P/Y/R values that I'd be able to find ona L10 engine? I currently have an engine with 82 yaw. Can they go higher than that?

I've got an engine with 82.5 yaw. Spaceloot.com doesn't list any higher then 78 YPR. My guess is 80+ is rare and 82 or higher is darn good.

I may soon be getting some pre-nerf L10 engines with insane speeds. I'll take my precious time collecting parts for them. I'll run posts by both the pilot and shipwright boards before I finish them. If I could get pitch and roll to match my yaw (82), I'll be very happy.

My latest pet theory on loot caps is that a loot can fall into either the 'standard' or 'exceptional' category.

Every attribute on a standard piece of loot has a minimum and a maximum value. The value generated is most likely to be within one standard deviation of the centerpoint, and increasingly unlikely to be up to three standard deviations outside of that centerpoint.

Exceptional loot pieces will have one attribute that ignores this rule altogether and can have some kind of bonkers value. These pieces are extra super double crazy rare, like on the order of one in one thousand. (which means that getting an engine/weapon/shield with such a value is probably one in 4000...I'm waiting on people to start using the Lootalyzer to get a specific feel for the drop frequency by component type).

So - according to the population of about one hundred level ten engines on spaceloot, the three standard deviations point for YPR on a level 10 engine would be around 80.5.

Spaceloot.com still has a ways to grow. I checked there before posting this thread, but the previouly mentioned engine outperformed the listed engines in yaw.

1) did you...read...my previous post?

2) would it kill you to SUBMIT your engine?

Yes, I read it and was simply agreeing with it. I don't have access to my account at the moment, but I will submit it once I return home.

Heh, ok. I get defensive about my baby.

Cleary you've got an exceptional engine there. Under my current set of theories, that specific piece (L10 engine with an exceptional yaw) is a 1 in 75,000 loot.

My very first lvl 10 REd engine had 87.x Pitch... Sadly at the time I didnt know what I was doing so it was wasted in a engine with

94 speed

87.x Pitch

82.x Yaw

79.x Roll

52k mass !!!!

Today I would have loved it, had I saved it... I have never since had a similar engine ( have a 94 speed 84+ PYR tho)

Early in the game I looted a level 10 engine with only 39k mass. I, too, wish I had hung onto itlonger rather than REing it right away.

I wish I could go back to the first week of JTL and farm loot non-stop. The biggest problem with the nerfs is that it put a gap between the haves and the have-nots. But that deserves its own thread. I'll just have to wait untill I find uberness in every stat.
