Thread: JSF versus M22-T krayt
I have both of those ships, and for PvE *hands down* the Krayt wins. Every time.
With the mass available I can stick 3 RE'd level 8 guns on it, a high-end RE'd engine with over 70 YPR (try getting one of those and see if your manuverability concerns are eased a bit
) plus missle launcher and countermeasures - just for fun because with the right overload chips even Tier 5 NPC ships go *poof* on the first pass.
You should have a Lvl 6 Flight Computer, with Engine, Capacitor, Weapon, and Reactor Overload 3 (and since you're a Master Pilot, OL 4 is even better) with Capacitor to Shield Shunt 3 or 4. I use OL 3 programs and toss in some Rebel Shield Adjust programs so that I can generate stronger front/rear shields as needed.
What exactly is the loadout you have on your Krayt?

but for example for doing the vette mission, is the krayt still better than the JSF to do that mission ?
I tend to jink around even in the Krayt to keep from getting hit, but overall I would have to say I get hit more often in the Krayt. Not that it matters, since I can dump capacitor power to recharge the shields if absolutely necessary, and my shields have a recharge rate of 15 as it is.
The hitbox is obviously far more important in PvP, since that is usually a one-hit kill sort of situation.

I did like the Krayt - it's awesome ability to pound the crud out of anything did outweigh the lack of agility and large size, but for say a Black Sun duty mission you might want to try something more nippy and smaller.
It's all about tailoring the ship to your needs. Apart from the cost of buying one, there really isn't any reason why you can't have as many ships as your datapad allows up and ready to go depending on what you're doing. After my first mastery I think I had 6 different ships ready to fly.
Personally I also have different loadouts for different situations for each ship - especially true with the smaller, lower mass fighters. I have different requirements for duty mission dogfights than I do for a vette run or gunship hunting.
The Krayt does also have the advantage of allowing a gunner to come along too, which is fun.
I do have to say tho that I have taken far, far less hits in my JSF than my Krayt, if that's any use to you.

hmm and what about escaping, aint that alot easier in the JSF ?
escaping from a fight if you're almost destroyed that is...

Escaping in PvE is a matter of being able to move in a straight line at more than 989 speed (the fastest Tier 5 ships cap here) long enough to get beyond the 500 meter range.

Not necessarily. With a good engine and booster (and smart use of the IFF Scramble Skill - don't ever forget you have that!) getting away isn't hard at all.
Even against the Tier 5 Black Suns I would rather have the Krayt gunship. Near the end of the mission when you're getting 7, 8, and 9 ships coming at you, a little strategy will get you through the initial spawn and on the offensive, and keep the NPC ships from cracking your shell.
I love the Krayt, even though I can't fly it worth a darn. It's arguably the best PvE ship in the game, and to those who disagree, I am sure they would put it in the top 3.
I use my Actis when I want to have some fun, when I feel like being wild and rediculous in flight and still surviving, and that's about it.
Strangely, I can handle a Firespray really well, but cannot fly a Krayt to save my life although they supposedly have the same chassis PYR...

your right I disagree but I'd go
1) Advanced X wing
2) Krayt
3) Rihk
and would continue with TIE opp as best imp choice than basic X wing/Ywing LP
