Alright I'm confused. I want the Vaksai (being a freelance pilot), but the dude keeps sending me to the Rebel Outpost. Am I doing the wrong quest entirely? Where do you start the Vaksai quest? I guess I'm having a blonde day.

I'd like the answer to this as the same thing is happening to me. I believe it's a bug related to your faction affiliation on the ground, but I'm not sure. Answers?

Do the rebel mission...you get an heavy x-wing out of it....

Then go back to the station and ask again...

Now sell me that x-wing for 100K for giving you this advice....

You guys are correct, it's sending you to the Rebel station because of your ground faction. What happens when you talk to Kashyyyk station? That's where the Vaksai quest continues, and I'm wondering whether it'll let you do the last couple missions from there even though Eyma's directing you to the wrong people.

Lets just say i'm the proud new owner of both a heavy X-wing AND a Vakwatchamacallit.

Oh and I gave the X-wing to a friend who was "stuck" unable to get his.

Got the BS fighter, but had also been sent to the Imps (Imp on ground). I ran one mission for them before returning to her, and got myself a nifty hologram of the Imperial logo out of it. I'll be heading up later to se if I cant get the red tie as well, even if I cant really fly it.

Thanks guys... If and when I can kill that corvette, I'll let you know how it turns out. I'll also try talking to Kashyyyk station.

My problem is I cant get past the mission to destroy some t5 fighters and 1 gunboat and then more fighters and yet 2 gunboats, rebel gunboats at t5 = severely too fast for me and my friends and we got slaughtered, repeatedly.

My understanding is you need to let the corvette deal with the gunboats... concern yourself with the fighters and theoccasional gunboat that comes specifically after you. If you have neutral pilots in your group, have them use the IFF scramble to clear out agro, and focus on one specific gunboat through strafing runs. Missiles are supposed to be a big help too, which is my problem... I'm all out of mass and have no room for missiles.

I stopped working on this quest when I found out the Vaksai only has one weapon mount. What possible good is thatcompared to my Krayt with 3 pilot controlled weapons?

The Vaksai will be great with PvP

The speed of the Vaksai is very high. Mine is 1092 with a 109 engine in it and no overcharge. My mk V engine and tier 10 gun with missles will be very useful

It has a smaller profile and is harder to hit. none of the NPC ships will out maneuver you

Plan to use it for the master vette missions to kite the fighter screens and do hit and runs with missiles - close to 1400 with boosters and no overcharge

And for the record doing missions for the Reb Station and Kash Station, I ended up with a Reb holo and 2 Vaksai fighters

The PvP capability is somewhat wanting in this craft. I've pulled up alongside A-wings for comparison and was a tad suprised to see the enormous difference in size! This thingrepresents60k mass better than the A-wing, and tripple the target size as a result. It's also not that much smaller than the Krayt, and handles about the same, save for better decelleration both linear and on P/Y/R, which in and of itself helps a bit with targeting. The speed increase isnt really substantial enough to warrant the loss of 2 weapons, however, and to be honest, since even in the Krayt with heavy armor and shields in PvP lasts 2-3 shots, the advantages of mass v size arent too great.

For PvP (for neutrals),a Heavy Syck is a better match, Jedi Starfighter is likely king, and the Grevious... well, I havent seen one yet, so I dont really know how big of a target it presents, but even if it's as big as the Syck its dual weapon mounts might very well make it 2nd place.

For PvE (again for neutrals), the Krayt's firepower and weapon placement, 2 in-line with the ship's center and 1 outboard to catch the occational "stray" hit, keeps it on top. The Vaksai may have a size advantage against capitol ships, however, even with the best corkscrewing and jinking the Krayt gets hit hard. The lack of multiple weapon hardpoints on the Vaksai is its undoing here as well, however, as it means more runs against a large ship, and therefore more oppertunities for that ship to hit you.
