Thread: Anyone else out there getting this???
Ack, just happened again, WTH!!!
I had previously changed to a diff usb port and done a full scan before my original post.
Bloody hell is this aggravating, arrggghhhhhhh!!!
To the previous poster: Thx for your reply, yes I do have a diff Joystick to try, but all my stuff is mapped to this one, theres a ton of buttons on the X45 plus its got the left hand controller for throttle, among other things. No I have not seen it happen in other games nor had i seen it happen in SWG before pub 19. Since then it has been a random occurrance as well, the other day i was in space for hours before it hit. Today it seems to be re-occurring a lot faster.
If it means anything im a tier 4 reb, doing missions in Yavin...
gonna uninstall and reinstall the driver software for the stick now, wish me luck ![]()
This is where I say....mouse pilot for the win.
But in order to be constructive. Why not try another joystick just for a test even if you don't use that joystick permanently? You'll be at least be able to see then if the problem is SWG or the stick itself.
Sounds to me like the cable might have got damaged. Happened to the headphones I used for TS...ran the cable over with my rolly chair without realising...I now get sound but no speakin' back

Wireless mouses/mice/electronic rodents are great for flying only..when they run out of batteries..which is always in the midst of a furball..erm..lol..heh..
Thx for the reply Leaph, ya gonna have to try that, cuz it just happened again, ack!!!
Although, if anyone else is havin this prob i have now realized that unpluggin the usb cable then replugging it will clear the prob. Came back about 30 secs later tho....
I literally have changed nothing however, and the cables are really not in a position to be damaged.
I gotta Logitech stick i can try out, but im gonna try to ride thru the night on this crippled saitek, gotta get that last tier 4 box before dbl xp goes away. Dont wanna spend time re congifuring my key maps and such, plus i gotta hell of a rythm goin with this X45 after a year or so using it here, everything just happens subconciously these days, hehe
The X52 is nice-looking and all.......but I'd go for function over form anyday. Of course, with JTL it doesn't matter, because I'm a KeyMouser.
So Kayl, do u think the stick is toast then???
Its been bout a year, im sure any warranty would be void by a year. LOL, it's true that engineers are paid to design things to break 1 day after the warranty expires. I know, I employ some...
Ugghhh, gonna have to do the Logitech test to find out for sure i guess.
thanks for your input guys
The response was always mushy, like the base was filled with mashed potatoes, and yeah, the connection kept dropping out.
Personally, I think the twisty-handle Logitech is the best setup for this game now that the MS Sidewinder brand is gone. People use setups that are far too complex for a game so mind-numbingly simple.
On the 5th, go out and buy Falcon 4.0: Allied Force - THEN you might need a HOTAS setup.

Thanks for the info Shona. I'll take a look at my settings when i get home and see if that is checked.
Anyone else out there having your controls take a dump on ya?
Once I got the x52 I retired my x45. But yes I have had problems with anything connected to 2 of my 4 USB ports. I don't know what it is but 2 of my USB ports are flaky. The 2 ports that do work perfectly are on a USB 2 card. The 2 that are lame are the ones on my system board.
It could also be you have an x45 with a loose wire or the surfaces of the USB connector and USB socket have gotten oxidized. While the power is off use contact cleaner and wait 30 minutes before turning the PC on.
Point of referance, I have been using the X45 without troubles. Did you recently update windows? and did that update have any USB "fixes"? Sounds like your USB port may be flakey, or as mentioned, the cable.
