*shrug* crafted reactors work fine for me? if you're in a ship with limited mass, you probably wont be able to load up enough guns to stress a mark II reactor (my crafted is 3k mass 13k output, a mark III would be like 8k with 15k output), and if you're in a ship thats not, you can get a mark V reactor with enough output to handle anything you can stick on your POB anyway.
The reason people want an uber reactor is so that they can run Engine Overload 4 and not have anything become disabled. Also, right now Weapon Overload 3 is bugged and doesn't draw extra energy like it is supposed to. Once that gets fixed, an uber reactor will be even more handy.

well i have a Bwing that isA MONSTERthat i use my 36k reactor in and w/ all the things i have in it, it uses up 18k of the 36k...i have about 14k total max dmg running 4 guns, 95.9 speed engine, 33top speed booster 2 mark 3 concussion launchers, 15.6speed droid interface and i can run all of the highest overload programs all at the same time....so its a must for my setup because i havent seen a crafted reactor over 15k as of yet
**EDIT** Just made a 49k mass 18k generation rate reactor. So i stand corrected.

Pound for pound, I probably have the best--a level 1 reactor, 1100 mass, 15000 generation rate.
