When doing the first part of the master mission do I have to kill all thirty ships in Kessel in one sitting or can I do a few here and there over time? Can I leave Kessel and get repaired and then go back to the 30? How long does it take people to do the 30 on average?

no idea about leaving (i didn't) but it can take a while, if you are a reb, corsec, or sa just take out interceptors and oppressors as they are the easiest to kill (don't even bother with the aggressors more problem then they are worth).

You must destroy the 30 in one sitting, but if you are killed, you can repair to the station e re-enter into kessel.

Take a Friend, Misery loves company......

Just kidding. Take your time, pick off one target at a time. I did it last night solo in about 45 minutes.

Have fun.

take two or three friends, as every kill the group makes counts towards your total of 30. cuts down the time it takes dramatically

as with most content at the higher end, it is easier (and more fun) to get some friends around you to help out. I have had a flight squad of wonderful people helping me through my tier 4 missions and hope we can all get together soon to finish off the master assignments!

oh, and HI PEASLE!!!!

At what point do you get this mission? After getting my last teir 4 box, the trainer on Dath sends me off on a patrol type mission that I haven't completed yet (waiting for some friends to catch up in boxes to help me out), but it doesn't say anything about the Kessel system.

After you finish the mission you have the trainer on Dath will send you to a Rebel Admiral on Corellia. He will give you the 30 TIE mission.

If you are CorSec, kill b/x/y-wings...they are much easier than the quoted imperial ships.

Edit: AND when you need to kill the vette, it is usually a LOT easier to find an imp or two with bstrike versus getting however many wingmen together.

I did it as a rebel pilot with a single friend in about 30-45 minutes. I just targeted every Oppressor, Interceptor, and Advanced. I never targeted the Aggressors because even with a friend those things are a death trap. It was almost sad. Almost. Now that that's over it's time to fight the corvette and its rather large escort.
