Thread: Pikeman and PVP identifying problems and giving tips.

Ok considering the new patch which delays weapon switch by three seconds lets see how pikeman could be decent in pvp without dot lances.
If we see how we are disabled we can probably inprove it by identifying some problems. If your going to be a negative nancy and say pikeman can't be decent in pvp without dots and we'll suck for ever you can say what you may but please try and remain on a positive note for the aid of the pikeman community.
In pvp personally I use the following:
Armor-- Ubese armor 70% resist on kenetic (mostly because its only 85k)
Weapon-- a 4.5 speed, 1k max dmg LvA, with -50 all ranges below average ham cost but nothing special.
Food/drink-- 2 canapes(+714), a synth steak(+40% resist), and 2 brandys (+230 Focus/willpower/mind). (Note: muon some times substitues for the canape if I forgot my create.)
Combo- Area 2, Pole Sweep 1, Action Bleed 2, Polearm Leg hit 3 (leg hit 3 is spammed when they are in the ground), and soon I will be throwing in an Intimidation.
I only duel now, so I don't do large parties full of Tef killing and besides most of my best pvp friends went imperial
. I'll defend a base or go attack one if I'm asked but I'm nothing super special.
As you might have guess I attack the action pool and I try to only fight TKMS that might change when I get composite armor and defense versus blind mods if need be.
I would say my biggest weakness is a Mind poison Janta knife those rip me up pretty bad but I'm soon to be master doc so well see about that

What do you use and what are your weaknesses in pvp?

the brandy +230 is very bad,there are brandys +450
you need dot polearms to be competitive in pvp
my main weaknees are my best attacks
oison, fire and disease (i cant heal them)

full composite armor stun 30--40% (one helmet 80% kinetic in the inventory ifyour enemyis TKA using mind attack and 80% kinetic chestplate)
mind buff + 2 brandy (one or two canape + muon gold if the enemy is rifleman or cm)
i use
1-intimidate 2
2-mind fire ( unfortunately i have low potency i need 10 or more hits to stack the fire)+ poison mind+ kd polearm lunge 2
3- dizzy (if he cant stand up spam dizzy attacks)
4- warcry if they cant heal the dots
5 - stun (always intimidated and stuned , very important if they are fencers)
6- polearm hit 2 or 3, if you have the speed cap ph3

7- if they are hard defense stackers or doctorsi attack health ,action and mind with poison and fire eventually one stat go down because they havent time to heal all the dots if it is the action spam leg hit 3 if it is the health ph3 and if it is the mind ph3 + more mind dots
8- all dot polearms +200 or more strengh, the damage polearm max damage between 500-1000
9- Against melee the dots are very deadly, against cm is very important dizy +kd very fast ( eat the muon after the first tick of the poison) ,against rifleman intimidate+dizyy+kd
10- always /follow the enemy, prefer indoors to fight,
i win often against melee profesions , sometimes cm and rifleman
after combat revamb perhaps i will chose doctor profesion because i cant heal dots and i like pvping alone.

Which polearm attack causes Dizzy? I'm master pike and tkm, is lunge 2 better than knockdown 2? anyone know? Nice post Izarbeltza, lots of info. And don't worry about your english, it's better than average.

Area attack 2 is an area dizzy/stun. Great for when you KD a doc and they try to run a stand-cure dizzy macro.

I'm just bumping this incase any one else has anything to add with the new patch and the 3 second delay.

alright well i had a chat with a vet pike on my server and well the 3 sec switch obviously dispells dots from stacking several before a doc can heal em, and without dots, we have kinetic and electricity dmg types, energy really doesnt count cause theyre not that good stats compared to the superpikes, but anyway, without dots, were like tkms, cvept way less defense, 1 more dmg type, less states, and no headhit haha, but see the real prob we found is that theyre doing this 2 months before the actual revamp...which just screws pvp for pike and all dot users in it for that time...but acfter the actual revamp we may have a chance, maybe...

Well after the revamp we are suppose to be tanks as in we take all the damage. So if our Attacks stay the same as they are right now and we become tanks then well probably have a home in pvp.
