Thread: High damage lance survey...

As I can't kill NS Elders alone most of my NS hunting is Protectors/Spellweavers and below. Do these varieties also drop high damage/decent DOT pikes or do you all find only Elders dropping the uber pikes?
My template is Pike/TKM/Master Brawler/Fencer 0420/Medic 1000, I can tank Elders all day long, just can't damage them

Yes, the other can drop the good pikes as well. Your best bet with that template is to stick with protectors and lower. I have gotten some nice pikes off them not to mention a +14 polearm speed tape so just keep hunting them, they will drop for you eventually.

i dont think i can solo Elders but all i need is a meat shield hehe.

keiban I have the twin sister of that lance =)
I got it off a weaver or sentinel it was a swarmI cant remember.
678 damage, 528 tick health poison, and -1 uses =)

over 12000 uses, and I lose to -1 uses, just doesn't seem right somehow

I don't even bother with protectors most of the time, since all I ever seem to get off them are locked containers and heavy clasps. Spellweavers have been the ones to drop nearly every good lance I have.

same, i ve foundspell weavers drop great stuff, i did like 50 protectors last night and all i got was cash, at least with spell weavers u get some lances (evn if they r crap)

Cheers for all the replies. So in your opinions it's better to try and loot a good one that to get a crafted one using looted components?

Unfortunately, the only components used in our weapons are vibro motors. That limits our looted components to vibro motor enhancements (from Nym guys typically), Nightsister Vibro Units, or vibro motors from theme parks. You shouldn't use NS vibro units in anything other than the NS energy lance, and the motor enhancements you can get off Nym's guys are nothing that spectacular (usually +20 to damage, which can easily be negated by a bad slice). The lightweight vibro units you can get from Jabba's theme park (I think) aren't too bad, but again they're nothing special.
Looting the whole weapon can provide better stuff, but you need to be lucky.

Oh, for what it's worth I got two (Exceptional) loots today, one off a spellweaver and the other off a sentinel. Never gotten a single one before, got these over the course of about five minutes.
The sentinel dropped 5 identical Heavy Clasp (Exceptional). These of course have no stats at all.
The spellweaver dropped a Vibro Axe (Exceptional). It has about 100 lower damage than crafted ones and has no DoT, it's just faster and has miniscule HAM costs.
And a protector dropped a +11 Polearm Speed / +11 Thrown Weapon Accuracy armor attachment I don't dare use.
Yes, the game is mocking me today.

Also want to note that just b/c an item is yellow doesn't mean its exceptional. Sounds like that might be the case for the person posting a couple above. An exceptional item wears the "Exceptional" tag next to the item name.
