Thread: Question about a template
I am totally biased ... but I love the traditional Combat Smuggler route ...
Master TKA (for meditate and close combat and defense mods)
Master Smuggler (because that is what I love)
Master Gunfighter (for the speeds and defense mods)
Well for PvE, the only thing that would affect that in smugglers is Dirty Fighting really.
I love the smuggler profession, but I guess I'm not clear of what it is you really want out of your character.
You could go Master CH, Smuggler 0/0/4/0, Pistoleer 1/3/4/4, novice medic...
that would use all your skill points...
Could you please help by elaborating on what it is you want? Are you a CH wanting smuggler skills? or someone actually wanting to be a smuggler in and of itself?

sorry for not clarifying, I was thinking about keeping MCH and going master smuggler, to get the slicing and the spice trees as well (could be fun.) When I said that I stick to PvE most of the time I mean't I just don't PvP, I still would like to rest of the smuggler abilities, as it would be a fun change to bashing mobs. If I drop pistoleer, does smuggler still do the damage that will be effective in PvE with last ditch compared to what I am doing with fanshot and stopping shot?
Geevo, I was thinking about going TKM, master smuggler, master gunfighter. How did that work out for ya? Although I would be sad to lose CH, I think it might be fun to do something different for a while.

Well, if you keep MCH and go for MS...
That leaves you with 23 skill points.
Personally I feel that smuggler pistol specials, while the best specials, do not do themselves justice unless you have a good amount of pistoleer skill as well. The DPS considering how often you will miss, the rate of fire, everything will be completely differant than what you are used to now as a pistoleer.
As smuggler has zero skill mods for pistols, you can find your PvE damage while using a gun drastically reduced. In short, there is no comparison whatsoever with what I can do as a pistoleer in damage vs the Smuggler.
The damage I can do as a pistoleer is extremely good, but without the skill mods of pistoleer, smuggler combat skillsare very limited in effectiveness.
If you use stopping shot, you should remember how slow of a shot that is. If you do not have your pistol speed mods from pistoleer, and try last ditch, you are going to have a long time to wait between shots.
Panic shot is no replacement for fan shot in damage... though it is useful for it's effect.
and again, you will also be very innacurate.
I tried triple out a triple master a while back. Personally the lack of medic skill was a big turn off for me, as that adds to my group utility. In and of itself, the triple master is very powerful and effective.
Yet it is at the cost of being able to heal your friends. For me, it was not worth the cost.

Do you think that it would be worth dropping some TKA skill in order to have at least some medical skill?
