This made my day (and since I got no loot except clasps off 5 elders it was the only worthwhile thing so far)
I was hunting my 3rd elder of the day (alongside my swordsman alt) when this rifleman named Ack rode up on their swoop.
Hopping off about, oh, say 60m from us and he started going to town on the elder's health pool.
I dunno what kind of exploited weapon they were using but it was taking visible chunks off the pool. (My swordsman had mind down 1/3 at this point)
I mean that health pool went fom full to 2/3 in about 30 seconds. (I cant image any legal weapon save my friends exceptional T21 that can do that)
I say out loud that its not nice to ride up and try to outdamage someone working hard, but that I assumed he already knew that.
He has the nerve to say he was chatting on IM and didn't see my 2 chars. Punk.
(Get the joke, a sharpshooter who says he cant see 2 flailing object in his targeting reticle tanking on his target)
I dont tank for any thieving punks so I said I was outta there and wasn't gonna waste time tanking for them to get loot.
My swordsman hopped on his bike and rode off. Elder broke aggro on him in a few seconds.
This is the good part:
Elder went straight for the rifleman. Ack must have thought 'Ack!'
I mean she stalked him fast.
Before I could hop on my bike (I was planning on leaving remember) there was the corpse of Ack lying there.
I got in one /tell before he logged off on the spot. "You got what you deserve"
By the time I sent a follow up message all I got in response was "Ack is not online"
So I took aggro on the elder and brought back my swordsman to finish the job.
Ok so I got no good loot, but watching a punk like that get whats coming to them was worth the time it took to kill all 5!
Cheers Sentinels!

My swordsman had mind down 1/3 at this point...
Had the elder's resists dropped by this point?
As I'm sure you're aware when you've done a certain amount of damage to any high level mob their resists will start to fall.
On NS Elders by the time you have her mind down to about 1/3 of the bar her resists to energy should be down to around 12.5%
With a good T21, damage sliced with a powerup hitting for around 700 max damage, each strafe2 should be doing up to 3000 damage per shot *after* taking into account the resists.
A speed capped rifleman could easily do 90,000 damage to a sufficiently weakened elder in 30 seconds with good damage rolls
No exploits needed.
I do agree though, it does sound like he got what he deserved for trying to use someone else as a tank while he stole the kill

You seem to be correct on all counts. =)
I checked screenshots and it was only appx 2700 per shot using advanced strafe (speed capped I assume)
But timestamps show that It all happneed so fast and screenies show that massive damage he had done in that short time. (closer to 2/5 of her health pool)
In fact I had NOT had her 1/3 down as I remembered but a lot less when he showed up perhaps only 1/6 of her mind.
I was feeling a bit bad for lashing out and calling names but I was both ticked when he went to work and elated when he died.
It was all about the 'playing dumb' attitude while clearly and quickly and deliberately outdamaging the tanks who had found and were fighting for the elder.
That is why I say punk. Thief might be too strong but it is accurate. And I never said exploiter only wondered about it strongly.
I guess I got a teensy bit carried away =P
Earn your kills! That is all I ask. I earn mine =)

Congrats though, some Riflemen are so bloody ignorant
And I hate them in PvP - which incidently, is why I don't pvp anymore.

Hehe, I just feign death in that situation, usually the rifleman will kite for a while then burst, Once he's dead you get your mob back.

Being a pikeman and only a pikeman limits me to what mobs i can actually damage. I tried DoTing an elder to death but she wasnt having any of it. took like forever ... No Energy lance for me
Meaning i never had to deal with this but i can see how frustrating this would be. Nice 1

the only way to stop a rifleman form killstealing is to bring the kill to them... their defenses will kill themselves...
did it earlier today and it felt good...
(p.s. it wasnt really ninja looting so much as kill stealing)

Takes me about 6 min to kill an elder with a 550 max damage T21 using strafe2, I average about 2500-3500 damage per hit
