Pikemans block should do something other that 50% reduction to damage.


that could be fire 100% of the time, stop state effects and bleeds 100% of the time that it fires, or something compleatly different.


Like, when you block your bracers always take the damage, instead of your chest.


Who cares about jedi block?


They use a glowing plasma rod. We use a metal stick.

well maybe if we took 0 damage but our weapon took a duribility dmg or something, even though that is a bad idea, I would still like to see pikeman block more effective.

why not just make it block all damage with no penalty like dodge and counterattack?

thats what I though the jedi block did and thats what I'm meaning for people to sign this for but it seems no one cares. I figure Devs only work in quick fixes most of the time unless your profession gets a revamp and this is one of the best quickfixes for our profession that I can think of so some one come with good feed back on this.

I don't think it should be quite affective as Jedi Block, as after all, they are Jedi. Perhaps it should block 100% of the damage, but not all the time.

Block will always take 50% damage, as I understand it. Why make block stop 100% damage? They may as well just give us dodge and be done with it...but then that's no fun because everyone would have the same thing and it takes away some variability. They devswill, however, look at the amount of times it fires, or come up with some other way to make block more effective durring the combat balance.

the problem is that Pikemen were originaly suppost to be the tanks of the game, now, since we were suppost to be tanks, the devs got all scared that we would be un-killable and gave us the crappiest secondary defence... kind of the way they were afraid of Ranged professions ruling the battlefield by kiting, so they beefed up all the mele professions defences to nigh-invulnerable, there by making ranged suck.


well as it stands now, the devs still THINK that we have the best defence, when infact we have the worst. hence they go off and say "block will always block 50% of the damage". well if they decide to stick to this during the combat balance, they will most likely give us counter attack, and give Swords block.

well i am OK with 50% of the dmg going through but i think that when it works it should stop dots and state effects and KDs and all of that as well. and i do not think it should work as well as jedi block, but it should work more than it does

If block only defends against 50% damage than we should block attacks 2x as much as a Fencer dodges or a swordsman counterattacks. At the minute the only time I block is when I have COB on

block should raise or kd defence plus 50 cuz we get knocked down like a twig
