Well folks, I am like one of twenty Polearms on Starsider. I am not a Pikeman yet, how many of you are?

I am working on master polearm, about 60,000 xp short.

Anyways, I would really like to stop using a stick. I mean, marksmen already have their upgraded weapons, when can stop using STICKS already. I mean, metal poles are grgeat and all, but I would really like a new weapon, like a lance. No one can make them yet, and Its pissin me off. Im taking the damage, give me weapon. We never find enough weapons... we're an endargered species.

My brother and I are both pole users and on starsider..We areabout were you are as far as exp...We are also upset over the fact. We are still using are inter, weapon.

Due to the fact weaponsmith think that is not a demand for melee weapons they are not going up that tree but range instead. Do as I am in Corbantis and try to get together a group of melee players to convince a weaponsmith that it would be a good idea to start making melee weapons first. By the way i'm a one handed expert just trying to help my melee brethren

Radiant Galaxy. Same here. I'm only an Advanced Polearm guy, but have the Lance cert. I have run into two Novice Weaonsmiths and they both said they are going Ranged first. Bah! I have a buddy who despreately wants some Vibro-Knuckles. We're all in the same boat.

I'm on Eclipse and while I have a fairly good Combat Staff I'd really like a Lance. I did speak with a Weaponsmith the other day about this and he said it will take some time before he'd get melee crafting skill.

Finally made Apprentice Pikeman last nite! The bad thing is I am still using a Combat staffas the crafters haven't made it to crafting Lance yet...

hi i am going pikeman tho am just starting to work on the 70k needed for pole spec , i am lucky i found a weaponcrafter going up the melee branch and finally got my lance its low end his first try does 10-145 dmg speed 7.6 but when he gets his experimentation up i am hoping to get better one

One thing I'd like to add as far as weapons go - find you a weaponsmith and become their best friend!

I was lucky enough to make friends with an aspiring weaponsmith on day one and have been supplying him with materials and customers ever since - there is money to be made crafting HIGH QUALITY staves, as it is a niche market that is pretty much being ignored. Weaponsmiths are just now getting to where they can make Lances...however, ahigh quality, experimentedcombat staff can be made that will have dmg up to 104-106 with very fast swing spds!!

So, find a weaponsmith, make them your friend and offer to market their wares for them, bring them supplies, etc...it works, and you can get SUPERIOR stuff for a great price...

By the way, if you play on Gorath and are in need of a super-nice staff, look up Lacer Velanos...

I'm heading on my way to pikewoman.... nothing will change my mind. And I'm agreeing with all these posts about weapons... whats really sad is I just read that for a weapon smith to make a lance.. they need a component only made by master artisans...

So between the lack of melee weapon smiths and lack of master artisans.. its gonna be a loooong time before we start using anything other than the reinforced...

Anywho... I'll be watching for ya all!

i'm the only one i've seen with a lance so far...looted from a npc...

it's dmg is 7-133, worse than some of the staff carfted by other players....

but hey, it looks cool

the problem is, we r not able to keep 1 weapon for too long due to the repair system in this game..

my lance is falling apart now, and i couldnt find a new one anywhere on the market

Engineer 2 gets the schematic to make an armor or weapon repair kit, but you're better off getting them from a Master Artisan since they can add the optional components. Repairing an item WILL lower the max condition, so no item will be around permanently. Lower conditions will lower the protectiveness of armor, and I'd imagine the damage output of weapons.
