I had an armorsmith buddy make me a Featherweight FWG5 pistol last night. He used one high-velocity pistol barrel from Jabba's themepark and one high-powered pistol scope from the Imperial themepark. The gun came out pretty good...not great. The max damage was only like 167 or something. The accuracy was damn nice though: at30m was +60! The HAM costs were a little higher than usuall, but the big thing was the 44.4% wound chance. So, here is my question for anyone who might know: What does that mean and how does it work? Does that mean that almost 1/2 the time I shoot someone they will receive wounds? How are the wounds calculated? Are they based on the damage? Like if I hit someone with StoppingShot will they get 25 wounds or something? Any information would be great!

you are correct on the percentage part...I personally don't know about the calculation of how many wounds you get .

Heya all.
My LVA has an extremely good wound chance.... over 60%. I have noticed that occassionally, PVE, while doing a spin attack, the floating numbers over the MOB's heads will be much higher than normal. I always assumed that wound chance refered to critical hit for an additional damage modifier, which, judging from experience, is likely +50%. Anyone have some hard numbers on this?

This is not correct.
The % Wound chance is the % Chance that you inflict a Wound on your target. That's all.
Put your cursor over your Target's Health. It will be (as a random example): 10000/10000 (10000)
10000/10000 = current health left, out of current Maximum Health.
(10000) = Normal Maximum health, with no wounds.
After beating the hell out of someone, their health will drop to something akin to 5000/9000 (10000)
Note that the current Max Health has dropped. If you walked away from them now, they could only heal back to 9000, NOT 10000.
This is how wounds work.

Yes, I've seen the wounds slowly accumulating on higher level MOBs as fights continue, but this doesn't explain the odd damage jumps I sometimes see. Here's another example, from a very long fight against a Krayt Dragon. I was a Pistoleer /Rogue at the time, and was using a republic blaster doing what littleI could to help the Swordsmen and TKM's that were up front beating on that beast. The blaster had a max damage of 193, and I was using Last Ditch. Nearly all of my hits were scoring in or around 1200 - 1400. A couple hit for around 1800. Then I see 2700 pop up. Another pops up at 2800 a little while later. Now, assuming the damage modifier is 1.86, my max damage using last ditch should have been 2512 with that weapon. I always assumed the anomally could beexplained as being a "critical hit". Not that I'm neccesarily dismissing your explaination, but while what you've said makes sense, it doesn't cover the numbers I've seen, especially when it comes to pikes. If this isn't wound chance causing these numbers, anyone have a good guess as to what does?
