On Sunrunner server, I made one. Its a generic PA hall and i did some cool stuff.

First, torches are a must.

Second, if you can afford them, the blue/orange rugs look awesome as fighting rings/mats.

Third, Statues like the Regal Battle statue and the sentinal statue are cool

Forth, I used the fountain of heroism against the wall that seperates the back area.

Fifth, if you get some wooden staffs, you can do some pretty nifty stuff.

Sixth, melee weapons and such are a necessity hanging from the walls.

Seventh, paintings make it look like crap (if you want it to look like a real dojo)

Thats about all i can think of atm... hope it helped.

cool some good ideas. I actually made both the rugs today, now have an orange room for my partner and a blue room for me.

I have a brazier in my PA hall. It's a city decoration,it's a bigbronze dishfilled with burning charcoal. The brazier filled with burning coals is a staple of martial arts flicks. It's an outdoor decoration, but it looks cool indoors if you have enough area.

You can center it in the floor of the main room, or you can move it so that it's centered against the back wall, with the base concealed by the stairs.

A circle made of candles or glasses makes for a beautifull dueling circle/dueling ring in lieu of a rug. Just make sure they are named "ring markers" or somesuch.

It's hard to place so that it looks like a perfect circle but time and patience will add alot when it's done.

While I don't have a dojo, I have been thinking of how I would design and/or decorate one, and I'll share my ideas with you, if you would like to hear them.

1 - A wall of weapons. Or maybe several walls of weapons. 1 wall for one handed, 1 for 2 handed, 1 for polearms.

2 - Though I've not seen them, a few of the loot rugs made into a sparring ring could be a nice touch.

3 - A meditation room with candles, torches, plants, and some rugs for meditating.

4 - a couple of those gold petal wall screens for decoration or a changing room.
