All I hear are bad things from leveling up Pikeman. Is it only at master when it gets enjoyable? With master brawler the accuracy is 55 and I got enough combat xp to get the first 2 boxes in the tree that requires combat xp which gives accuracy mods if I'm not mistaken. With those 2 boxes is leveling up Pikeman easier or are you still inaccurate till master?

Also how long does it take to master Pikeman? Is it more nerve wrecking than any other profession?

Pikeman is fun... period... the Accuracy mods u get do help a lot... Also.. work up the speed tree... Stick to using the regular lance until about 2/0/0/2 .... then the long vibro axe.... as with any profession... the closer you get to master... the more potential you see in the profession... Just stick with it and enjoy

I'm currently 0/4/0/3 pikeman

so far I've been having a decent amount of fun.

Just get good armor, doc buffs, and then run up and start doing area attacks on nests.

all the guys pop out and surround you. Some of them even try and repair the nest. Pretty easy way to get xp and its fun to be surrounded by 5 gurks at the same time.

As long as you keep an eye on your mind pool, you'll be ok. Keep some pixie and some muon in case you get low in a certain pool. Also, speeder bikes make for easy getaways so you don't really have to worry too much.

Ive been going to the Tuskan Fort for three nights now....the exp is insane. I get a doctor buff for 3 hours, drink some brandy...and then the fun begins. I get around 4.5k exp per uber Tuskan, and considering they spawn pretty fast, your on a winner. Only trouble with this place is it can get pretty busy depending on when you go. I'm loving Pikeman so far, currently TKA Master, Master Brawler, so powerboost helps. I will probably be dropping TKA and just keeping the meditate line, and going Master Two Handed Swordsman instead. Ive got + 10 speed and accuracy tapes at the moment as well.....sweet.

I have to admit, even with buffs, I was getting stomped on by mobs while just novice. Mostly because I was frustrated with the amount of xp needed to gain boxes, compared with the low level of missions that I could pull...leaving me no choice but to run off without logic to Dantooine to grab piket missions, and get stepped on. I couldn't take them then, but I can now. I am more than half way through the tree now, and now that I can hit faster and harder, it is a lot of fun.

Let's attack this one at a time.

Is Pikeman any fun leveling up?

Yes

Is it only at master when it gets enjoyable?

No it's enjoyable FAR before then.

You will be very accurate. The problems before were that the LVA had horrible range mods. Those were updated in the last patch. With master brawler an 0-0-0-2 pikeman you'll have +105 accuracy which will help out greatly.

Short answer to your question. Pikeman is fun

Hell yeah it is. Not only do you hit often and can handle mobs *pretty well*, but the animation is just fantastic. There is an elegance to this profession that I've not seen in any other profession I've done (grinding #17 atm). This was the most enjoyable profession I've done by far, and it totally stinks that I had to give it up to continue my grind.

I know that when my grind is over, I will wholeheartedly return to Pikeman. It's just that good.

ROCK ON PIKEMAN!

Yes, Pikeman is fun levelling, because with each box, you get just that much better...and believe me...just that much better REALLY matters to Pikeman.

I'm Wookiee (no armor) Pikeman 3/4/4/4 right now. No Master Brawler, so until I got 4th tier in the accuracy tree (comabt XP, gotten from while I was Master TKA), I was missing more than hitting (yes, using older weapons). Once I got the 4th tier, I was hitting more than missing - just like any other profession - NOW it was do-able.

Old pike weapons had -31 to range mods for Vibro Lance, and -52 range mods to Long Vibro Axe, and +11 range mods for the standard Lance. Now the new Vibro lance has -11 mods (I believe), and the Long Vibro Axe (which I'm using to finish off Pikeman) has -31 range mods (mine has -27 to the bottom of the three range mods). I also got a slice to damage for about 427 max damage (if I remember). Speed's about 4.7 (a bit slow)

Pikeman moves are AWESOME...swings, sweeps, behind the back swings...overhead slams...swing/behind-back-swing/forward-poke/kick - nice combo movements!!!

THE hardest thing about pikeman is when you miss - you eat up your own HAM for 100-200 per shot, and unless your speed is up, yer gonna wait a LONG few seconds (and get pounded) for your next shot.

Speed, accuracy - those are your friends to start off with. Then the AoE attacks. Also, if you find yourself getting hammered a LOT, find a Medic to go along with you.

At Ft. Tusken, I was in a group with a nice/fast healer. We spotted a couple Captains. We didn't see the other two Chiefs, couple Raiders (and I think a Sniper jumped in at the end). I said ready? and the healer said GO FOR IT. So I did.

(I was powerboosted, no other meds/drugs, so my HAM was 1500, 1400, 1500) I walked right inbetween them, targetted one (they didn't notice me yet), and layed in with AoE Dizzy/Stun a couple times, and once it took, AoE KD, then continued AoE Dizzy/Stun pounding. The healer was on me like glue...healing me constantly.

So, about 20-30 seconds total time, many heals (one right before my health was all white), 2 captains, 2 chiefs, 2 raiders, and one sniper that jumped in...AWESOME XP...TOTAL CARNAGE...LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR.

There'd be NO WAY I could do that solo without healing...now if I had armor, perhaps (anyone know where to find good PSG - send me ingame email - Grawarr, Naritas).

Another nice thing about Pikeman is coming up to a group of enemies someone's attacking, do one AoE KD, then peace...letting the original players get DBL damage when the enemy's down. It helps the lower players get XP faster.

Right now I'm 0002 in Pikeman. My accuracy is 105, but I still only hit about 3 out of 5 times or so. So until I get 0004 accuracy won't be an issue. Speed is what I need right now, trying to get upto stances 2 so I can get in a few more hits. One thing I like about Pikeman are the animations it does, since I'm a tka master the only 1 I like is unarmed hit 3 and I can only spam that for a little while, but pikeman specials look very cool. Hehe.

Its fun if you are buffed.

Also my gripe is that TKA mediatation is more useful to pikeman than it was to TKA because you get beat on more.

I feel pikeman needs a boost of some sort , the insane damage dealer class just isnt there.
