well i did first 3.0.0.0 so i get spin atack 2, then off to jinda cave, buffed and armoured (squill caves good too, or quankers) and go up 4.0.4.4 (last row combat XP so it goes all the way up as you do the 4.0.0.X and the 4.0.4.X) then i went up the other box...worked fine, i tryed to go up speed then defence first

dunno its the best way but....works

im going in defense first simply b/c its much easier to get your defense up so that you can kill thougher things first. like today ill get 3 in defense tree

I would suggest very highly getting the first column first. This will give you pretty good attacks and speed you up with your attacks. When grining up to my first +15 speed boost I could do janta missions but they would take about 10 minutes to do. After my first speed boost I am slicing through them like butter. I can now complete a janta mission in about 1.5 minutes. Because at 3/0/0/0 you get an area attack that also can dizzy.

I would also during your climb up the first column at least take 1 box in the third column. I would suggest this for the fact that you get Melee Mitigation 1. This will help you by lowering the damage that you are taking per hit.

I did exactly what the others have said to do. I have climbed 4043 in pike and am now working on the offense line.

Based on a Pikeman guide (that I can't find anymore) I chose Defense first. I am now 1142 (sig says 1143...goofed up, but I'll be there soon ;-) ). I rarely get incapped (buffed, of course) and have no problem whatsoever doing Piket missions (although, I should note that I am also a1113 CH). I got jumped by 3 Voritors, 3 Pikets, and a Huurton the other day (without a pet) and fought them all off without so much as a single gram of Muon (I was, of course, buffed and had some Brandy and Canape). Without having gone another route, I can't tell you if my way is better than another, I can tell you it is working for me.

I went defenses 1 first, then up to the first box with speed in it, then went up to polearmsweep 2, then finished thespeed boxes, finished defenses, then worked on offense.

I got defenses 1, then I got all the way up in stances, then I finished defenses, then I did offensive. I got the last box of combat xp before I got the last box of offensive.

When I hit novice I was immediatley able train 0.0.0.3, big help for accuracy. Then I went 0.0.4.3 for the bleed andKD and I like to fill out atree right away so I can build up the xp and not have to train as often. Now am 2.0.4.4 and will go 4.0.4.4 then the offense column.
