Thread: Very Happy Master; Template?

i got master a couple days back, i posted and all. last night i went on a krayt hunt with my PA doing the scythe quest, we took 6 krayts in total, and i tanked them all! i'm so proud, i'd never killed a krayt before

also, i was thinking about doing master pikeman, master swordsman and master fencer leaving 4 points. i dont think i need novice medic, hell i made it to master pike without it . anyone else have this? does it work well? fun?

I think that template would probably work very well. Great defenses, and nothing over the cap so nothing is wasted. Personally, I prefer having master brawler in there for the skill mods, lunge 2, and intimidate 2. My personal template is master swordsman, master brawler, 4-0-0-0 teras kasi (for meditate), and 1-4-0-0 fencer. The defenses aren't as good, but it has great KD defense and great posture change defense, so I can do great PvE and still not embarass myself in PvP.



Either way, with master pikeman and master swordsman, you are going to be pretty well equipped to make just about any critter in star wars feel a great deal of pain, so go with what you like the most.

Skip the finesse line of fencer and the technique line of swordsman and get TK 4/0/0/4 (or however much you can of it).


Being able to heal your own wounds and poison/disease is a godsend.

the ability to heal over 1k+ is good...I suggest use be canape, be vasarian and muon if you pick up more medic skill.

The problem with that template is you can be kited by ranged folk no matter what skill set you use.


Instead maybe pick up some Carbineer that can do an area dizzy (that is supposed to work like nobody's business). Then go in with the area knockdown with your pike. Then you can get the prone damage bonus, and if the person has a ranged weapon you get the 2.5 damage bonus.


That is 1 to 2 hit incaps ( then the rifleman steal your deathblow ).


Oh, yeah, I am a PvPer so I don't usually think about the PvE stuff since as a Master Pikeman with a reliable source for buffs there are not many creatures that can kill us.

I am in the midst of doing something similar myself now.....going up TK lines now.....just saving some medic and scout skills to make some $ here and there.....no reason to give it up if I don't need to.....

this is a pure PvE template, PvP doesnt interest me
and as for tka i was trying to avoid it, as my alt is a master and i'd rather keep them different

Well, if you do faction missions you will still be kited. I would recommend Mastering Brawler even though WarCry2 is worthless in duels and most PvP settings. However, Intemidate will cut the damage you recieve by 50% and that is HUGE. Also, you get Lunge2 which is a KD attack done at 20m and that will take care of the kiting NPCs.


I tried a template without Medic once, and decided to keep it. This was back when the def mods were stackable. I have Melee Def of 181 and rarely got hit in PvE. PvP I still got hit though so I kept medic.


However, since the Nerf of the Def mods I am going to change my Template too. I currently have Master Brawler, Master Pike, 2/3/0/4 TKA (def mods and meditate), Fencer 4/4/0/0 and Sword 0/0/4/0. I will probably drop some TKA and shift my def line from Sword to earn the Speed and Accuracy branches on Sword. This way I can still use my NS Lances and apply a fire dot and poison dot to the mind, then switch to a scythe or Power Hammer and apply a Mind Bleed then commence to Head Hitting 2 until victory. Of course I will use Intimidate 2 to reduce the targets damage ability and when applying my pike dots I will do them with Area Attack or Spin Attack for the dizzy and then a lunge2 for the KD, then the head hits will follow.

managed to master 2h swordsman in 3 days...seems their area attack pwns ours

run into savage quenker lair...spam area attack...kill everything, get uber xp.

fastest i managed to do a lair was 21 seconds
*thinks some balancing is in order*
oh wait...we are pikeman, they cant fix us!

now i need to decide whether i should start heading up fencer or tka or whatever...
meditate on this, i will

master swordsman in 14 hours !! hehe thats 5 buff sets and i got an almost 2 hours to spare in geonocian cave

My plan is currently to go Master Swordsman, Master Pikeman, Master Brawler and dabble in TKM and Fencer. This way, I will have like 3 different damage types to work with, have the two heaviest hitting melee classes, and the dabbling will increase my defenses. Though, since I have heard that SEAs won't help over the 125 cap either, I may do some investing and buy some melee/ranged defense SEAs, and save myself the trouble of the skill points.....maybe put them into terrain negotiation or medic.....going to master TKA and Brawler, then see what happens....it's a work in progress

I heard SEA's did help over the 125 cap...
