Thread: Template question: PLEASE HELP ME!

Hello! I am considering a change in templates, and I will try to outline what I think about each.


My current template (and I own with it) is:


Master Fencer/ TK x1xx (For Imp CoB)/ Swords 1x44 (def, AB, accuracy)/ Doc 4xx4 (healing, and buffs)


I use blade of nyenthors'is (sp?) and I can win against almost anyone (not jedi with awesome sabers)

In PvP, I do really well, 'cause no one attacks me, and I can really get in some damage.

I also have some +25 1h speed in AA/CA, so I really kick butt



However, I seem to get bored of my templates quick, and I'm considering taking this template instead:


Master Pikeman (Warcry, and intimidate work wonders)/ Swords x444 (Imp Head hit, AB, accuracy)/ Doc 4xx4 (healing and buffs)


I know this template is nice, cause a guidie of mine has it, and I couldn't beat him. It dragged on forever. The downsides I see to this template are:


lower speed

lower dmg (thought better than my 850 Stun baton, but not better than my nyenthor'sis)

no improved CoB


I don't know what to do. I'm very confused, and would like some ideas from everyone

a pikeman/swordman template is really good. alot of people use it.



you can alternate two attacks, the impale, and the head it, and you'll be doing some real good damage.



the problem is, without master swordsman, you can't use the power hammer, which means you'll have to look for an uber pike. coming by a real good vibro lance is hard, but if you have a kamonian great staff, you should be doing wonders!

my question though, is which template would be better? I do PvP mostly, since its about the only thing fun left in the game for me. However, when in PvE, I wish I had an area attack. If I knew where tog et a kaminian great staff, I would, and I'd ADK it, like my current weapon. I guess I don't really mind grinding a new template out, its more, I don't want to have to grind back.....

Go to test sever and level up one there and see if you like it.

AND YES I mean level as there are NO blue frogs on test server.

It will give you an idea of what you want and you can try 3 different templates as you can have 3 char's on test center.

I guess you could look at it like this: currently you have more damage and better speed, and some moves that could end the fight, like binding strike, all offense. In the new template the most important things you gain are warcry and intimidate, which are defensive.


So,I guess the real question is, do you want to be able to kill quicker, or do you want the fights to finish some time the day after instead?

ROFL. Its true, right now I have quite a bit of offense. However, with the kaminoan pike, and some speed attachments, and since the specials I gain would do more dmg, I would still have approx the same offensive power. I almost never use binding strike, because right now, my offense is so nice, that I don't need it. Most are down before they use all of their action anyway. I liked the warcry and indimiate effect, because the only 2 people I've fought with them have been hard to kill. Exteremly hard. I think, if I work the template right, it might be stronger. So, I'm gonna give it a shot. It won't matter in the long run really, because in a few weeks, I'll be grinding jedi. So, really, it's to find out which I want my alt to be

That's my template, and I have taken down every jedi in my guild. Although the Master defenders are tough. Well I can't beat myself, but that's only cause I can't play both toons at the same time.
