Thread: Rant thread!
YAAAY!!!! The first rant is mine. How apropos of me.
Ok here goes. Doing some PVP tonight enjoying the new no decay no reinsure stuff as well as the imp crackdown because stupid rebs kept going into the cantina where the stormies were, but I digress. So my travels take me to theed where I'm wondering where all the rebs are when out of the blue this master bh comes running at me yelling "YOUR ASS IS MINE'.
Right away the guy starts to spam eye shot. I'm well prepared for these buttheads so I drop some muon and some fishak. About 10 seconds later this guy realizes he made a big mistake and picked on the wrong pikeman. Probably thought he was going in for an easy score and ended up guessing wrong.
Knowing that he blundered in his appraisal of me he turns tail and runs like hell. No worries, I'm used to ranged guys kiting. I start in with the lunge 2 and its working very nice taking its toll on this guy. So he gets dirty now. He starts to run in and out of the med center hoping to keep me at bay, around the bank, over past the bank where he promptly jumps into the river and swims out far enough for me not to be able to attack him.
Now I'm stuck. Hes just sitting there and I can't attack. He spouts off how the ranged defenses were supposed to be nerfed and how I've got an exploited template. I spout off about how hes playing dirty pool and how bad his mother is in bed. We're sitting at a stalemate for about a minute or so when lo and behold a friend of his shows up, whos not overt mind you.
Great. I can see where this is going. I tell the friend straight up, I know you're going to group tef me why not start attacking now. 'Oh no' he protests 'I'm just a noob watching the fight'. Sure. At this point his buddy comes wading out of the water where I now discover that hes a master bh also. They then proceed to both spam eyeshot until I'm dead. Fun.
Needless to say I was mighty pissed off about this. My question is this; Is this kind of thing good tactics or dirty pool? Lets hear it.

Im a masterpikeman, i have a 6 foot long staff. youd think id be able to push tk's and fencers away from me so that they cant even get close enough to touch me. Youd think id be able to trip up a kiter with ease. Youd think that, but for some reason pikeman in this game really dont reflect much of what pikeman are capable of doing. My best move is warcry 2, lmao!

Would it be possible to not claim that this behavior is a 'Rebel-only' activity. That is getting soooo old.

As a BH the jumping in the water and calling another MBH is dirty pool. Real bad form. Kiting of melee classes is fair game, IMO. We are ranged, our specials work better at range and if a melee guy gets close its game over for a BH. But, jumping in the water like that is really poor. Fight like a man/woman. Pull out the carbine and give it your best shot. Don't spam eyeshot like a monkey.

I should have clarified my rant. Twas not the kiting that upset me. I'm quite used to that and really have no problem with it. Twas the running in and out of buildings and jumping in the lake that pissed me off.

some guy in theed thought hed challenge my stick weilding arse to a duel. he must have taken me for a fool he was master 2hsword and master rifleman.. he said "let me get some distance" i said ok i guess. so he gets about 45m away and accepts. he gets one shot off and i burst towards him and wail the everloving craps out of him. I couldn't believe i actually won. then he says "ok let me try that with my sword" i said sure. needless to say i kicked his behind againtowards one more hit to incap he warcries me so im standing there for ten seconds wait for my last hit, incap him with my 700 damage sweep2 hehe
I would say that the rebel tactic that was used is definetely on the dirty side...however, I think dirty tactics used for survival are always appropriate. Next time just keep a supply of C12 grenades on you and you will no longer have that problem...Stay out in the water and bombard him...it might work because while he is in the water he can't stim or eat food for health gain although probably not...just an idea.
I will say next time someone does this to you, learn from your experience and call a buddy or two and turn a one vs. one into a gang war...
