Thread: Has anyone tried MPike/MD Template yet?

I've been playing pike/brawler/doc. Couldn't bear to give up either pike or doc so thought i would try it out.

Due to the level system it's actually quite hard to see the relative merits of various skills as the system is designed so you can either kill something or you can't (if that makes sense). I went to the Orphaned MarauderCave on Endor , this houses lvl 78-81 marauders so is a good test of your abilities.

Solo i had no problem killing 1-2 Marauders at a time. Didnt actually have to heal much at all. Later on a friend joined me (mixed brawler template) and we ended up fighting groups of up to 5 78-81's. We didnt die , had to retreat once but we did ok and were in the cave for over 3 hours . Currently the Doctor heals are all out of wack , the advanced bacta jab heals for a lot lower than some of the more basic heals and the enhancers don't seemto work. However even with the broken parts of the skills we gave good account of ourselves. Also with buff/enhancement times being a lot lower now it was very nice to have a comitted healer present. Also you can now apply buffs etc inside caves which is great.

From a combat point of view the main problem i had was running out of action , but this seems to be a gamewide problem. I had CoB macro'd and found our hits pretty much did what they said on the tin. Parry/riposte seemed to reflect about 20-25% of the incoming damage while taking no damage from that hit but it didn't actually *block* (for want of a better word) many times. THe basic armour break is nice but again didnt stick very often. Also i was disappointed that the advanced intimidate didnt stick as often as i had hoped. Warcry seems completely broken.

To sum up , i was viable solo up to a point and once the heal strengths and enhancers are fixed i think it will be a good template. But i see it as more of a group support style , which is fine with me. Also the warmup on the rez (tried this in a duel) is VERY long so get ready to drag people to safety rather than run in and rez.

Hope this helps , sorry if i rambled

Just wanted to add that pistol packing NPCs have been intimidating a LOT so the state healsare pretty handy too.

i gave up on my paddy grind and respec'd my alt to master pike/master brawler/master doc and i love it. i was solo clearing level 81 reb missions no problem, pve is fairly easy against any lvl 80 or lower. dueled one of our guild jedi knights (master def, mls) and went toe to toe for a good 15 minutes - just keep COB and bacta infusion going then intim/stun/armorbreak/kd/impale/leghit/impale - rinse and repeat. every few rounds i needed to COB/parry for a few and let action regen - but in the end his force ran out.

Master Pikeman Master Brawler and Master Doctor.

Has anyone tried this template yet? I'm actually thinking of keeping this one or going over to:

Master Pikeman Master Brawler and Master Rifleman

or

Master Pikeman Master Marksman and Master RIfleman

Any thoughts?

oh that sounds interesting, i'm gonna try that. i had some medic skills but post cu i think you either drop all medic skills or get master doc lol. one question, wouldn't getting master doc greatly drop your combat rateing, thus leaving you more vulnerable to damage from players with combat rating of 80? my understanding is that your combat rating plays a huge role in damage and so i worry about losing too much cr if i do get doc. any thoughts? but if you are soloing like that it sounds like a good temp..

Doc is rightly so considered a vital part of a combat group now and your level at MD/MPike/MBrawler will be 80.

I have always been a ranged profession in this game. I am thinking of taking my Master Doctor/Crafter into a combat role now. If I keep master Doctor, what combat template should i choose...

Master Doctor and... Master Pikeman/Brawler or Master Swords/Brawler or Master Pikeman/with some sword tree?

thanks for any input,

I have Master Brawler/Master Pike/Master TK with some medic thrown in for good measure.

I love it, not too high on the damage dealing, but the intimidate, knockdown and stun/dizzy work awesome.

Just need to get a timer for the COB so I can macro it.

I am playing pike/brawler/doc and I love it, I was pike/doc but since we can do brawler too now, defensivly even tougher, when a ranged goes out of range I just heal until their action drains and go zap their arse, i'm really enjoying it and won't be changing....

Yeah incredible template! I'll be keeping m.pike m.doc on my melee alt. I love wearing bone armor and having it work. Buffing groupmates during combat is fun and effective. Polearm specials are pretty nifty. If my group got in too deep I could taunt a few of the baddies onto me and continue medical attention for the patient(s). Bam out
