If your main concern is damage dealing, you probably are better off with swords than pikes. Impale does reasonable damage, but swordsmen overall have more damaging attacks.
Pikemen are not intended to be heavy hitters anymore.

Hello all, as stated above I'm in need of some advice. Here's my situation, I've got master armorsmith which I'm not touching, but the rest of my points now reside in master pike/master brawler. Before this I tried master swords and found the damage to be pretty nice. Would switching over to MB/MS be better than MB/MP? I'm likeing the stat attacks available from pikes, but for some odd reason impale doesn't seem to be doing the same amount of damage as critical or head hit (though a friend of mine was claiming hits of about 1800+ with the same lance he gave me). I want to remain in the melee profs so any and all advice to this situation would be greatly appreciate. Hopefully I can get some replies to this by the time I get home so I can respec

I agree, though one consideration to make is defense - you'll have a bit more with Pikeman than Swordsman, as well as Intimidate and Warcry. But if damage is your thing, swordsman is probably better for ya.

Look at keeping Master Pike and adding Swords 0,0,4,4 gets you all the mixed defense and accuracy mods plus adds a couple of the nice sword attacks. Of course this assumes you are AS with Artisan 4,0,0,0, and Brawler 0,4,4,4 you should be left with about 4sp.
