I've been an artisan for ever, just got a 2nd accnt to try some combat, i have been considering BH, but they are so popular, plus im wookie and they make funny BH's. So i came up with the idea of CH/PIKE, I dont really know about the nerf-state of either class, but it seemed like a nice combo, pike will be defensive and reduce dmg, while rancors beat on the poor target. Seems solid to me, i just wanted to hear some opinions before going through with it. I have a friend going rifleman/combatmedic and it seemed as though that would make for a good combo.

I am doing just that at the moment.

My pets still need to grow but I love ch.

The only problem I am having is that pets will not hold aggro very well. So it is me that takes most of the damage.

I am decided whether to keep pikes or not, ch is going to stay, but believe that no matter what combat profession I choose I will always be out-damaging my pets. So melee seems best.

I am not sure on how tough it compared to other professions but I love pikes, have been master for a while, and am loving CH even more (drop doc as it just doesn't fit for me anymore). But go for a proffession you will enjoy rather than on that will be tough.

I have been ch and pikes for sometime now (from b4 cu) before cu i found i wasnt really useing my pets much was a bit of a hobby more than anything and pikes was pretty much all the combat skill i needed.. Since the cu i find that pets are needed as pike's are so much worse now. there are though still lots of issues about the ai of pets, you tell em to stay they agro something u tell em to attack they look at u daft, havent been bothered to retrain them all yet so maybe thats my fault (unlikely lol) but if u soloing and the pets work then u need them. also have an issue with not being able to get some level 63 pets out even though i can have lvl 70 . lol i mailed em bout this but i guess they too busy. anyway i think pikes as a soloing tool has definatly had its day, lets put it this way on your own be carefull in a group as long as u got a good doc u pretty much still rock.

that is my alt template. i won't quit it. this is awsome as i'm a tank, i can send pet to pull, and my pets are damage dealers.

i can solo lots of things and i have a lot of fun tanking while my friends do damage with my pets. and i have a NSEL with good DPS...
