I'm a pikemen, trying to go for master(8 skills completed). Did they raise the HAM costs on our knockdowns, like other classes. I havent' noticed any change at all in my sweeps since the last patch...I hope it's not just me and once I switch to a new weapon I'll notice rediculous HAM costs.

Is the pikeman's sweep skill worth getting first? I'm also TKA and everyone says get knockdown first, well, is the skill with sweep the best skill box to take first? Or do the other boxes have merits I'm not aware of? And with sweep, is it plagued by the horrible accuracy that we have anyway?

get sweep. If you want to raise your pikeman skill faster, you'll need sweep.

I haven't noticed a difference in HAM costs by using Sweep 1. But in hearing all the chatter about nerfing knock down I started paying more attention to all my special move HAM costs and realized something very important. I use to fill up the attack list with special moves and never relied on the basic attack (no special move). After fighting an even conned mob I would be about 1/3 to 1/2 HAM left after the kill. Now I just sweep 1 to get them off their feet and then stun with Polearm Hit II or Stun II. Then I relax on the special moves and just let the basic attack work. If he starts hitting me pretty consistantly I will knock him on his ass again. Even though the fight takes a bit longer I can finish a fight with very little or no HAM reduction.

After you get Sweep 1 I would work on the Polearm speed branch. I just got the first +15 to speed (Stances II I think it's called) and it makes a nice difference. I also had my lance sliced from 4.8 speed to 3.5 speed and it's very noticeable.
