i dont know what the deal is with people whining and crying about pikeman???

i am a novice pikeman with only i repeat only the first row filled, that leaves me with 3 more rows and master,...i hunt at tusken fort all the time, when ever i am in a group i am the hero!, i use knockdown and polearmhit2 rinse and repeat i can solo chiefs and almost captains, i get 1.5 to 4k a kill on those bastards, now is that love or what???

noone, i repeat none i dont care what there profession is, can match me in xp gains there, and i am just a novice pikeman, boy i cant wait till master, i will be a one man army,...right now i am more a solo fighter like one on one, but after seeing a fellow pikeman polearm sweep 5 tuskens including a captain off there feet then polearm area attack them and kill them all at once,..it is looking up!, the best part is when i have master marksman say...how do you do so much damage? lol...cant wait

i believe that this profession is the best in the game, and what makes it even better is, none is doing it!!!

I have to say that I don't understand why everyone is complaining about pikeman (though I here there are complainers about each profession) because I love it. I've been doing the same thing you do. I got over 100k of polearm xp yesterday and got my first advanced skill... I am eager to see how I do against those tuskens now that I have some more defensive skill mods.

I wanted to echo moonraker3's comments about drooling over getting to master pikeman.

After finally getting Sweep1 last night, it's amazing to me to think that it will only get better. NPCS / mobs that I would turn fin and scurry away from now I can approach with alot less concern.

Granted when the mob is group aggro, it gets really hairy... but hey.. if it was easy, then it wouldn't be fun.

i will admit that their times i get frustrated cause of some of the melee issues in this game but i have yet to meet a ranged user that wishes they could hit like me. i have gotten to 3/1/1/2 in the pikeman tyree and combine that with master brawler and master medic i can also be quite a group saver. if fact i just soloed my first kimo last night (regular, not a giant) and it was a total blast.my only regret was nobody was around to see it .

basicly i doubt i will ever stop enjoying being a pikeman and can barely wait for the day i finaly get to master.

I cant say I have much of a complaint about the current state of the pikeman... I'm able to contribute to a group pretty well and can solo with ease, butthere are issues that should be resolved,

Our lower toughness skillcompared to the other melee professions.

The fact that we have 5 points of ourclass-specific defense(block) than swordsmen(counterattack) and fencers(dodge).

The fact that the resources for our vibroweapons arent spawning on Starsider(and other servers as I understand it).

I dont have a problem with having to run up to a blaster user to hit them... I chose to go melee so I should be prepared to have to deal with it. What I'd like to see, however, is maybe giveall meleefighters aspeed boost to our standard running(not burst)so that we have a better chance of catching up to our target.... or at least give some heftyburst run efficiency skill bonuses at the elite brawler skills, not as good as what scouts and rangers have but enough that we wont kill ourselves trying to catch up to that rifleman.
