So, what would be the best armor for our class?

I am a bothan, so I can't wear much. Any suggestions? (My mind pool lacks)

Depends on what you are fighting.

If PVE anything with low HAM costs that protects against kinetic energy.

in PVP you probably want more of Energy armor to protect against those ranged weapons.

If you need to use special moves and you are carring a high HAM cost weapon(VL, LVA). Don't use armour.

But if you just want to use normal attacks(better for weaker enimies, becouse you don't hurt yourself and swing faster)....i like my Storm Trooper armour. 30% defense to everything in the world baby! And 45000 condition. Instead of the regular 10000. But the HAM costs are 1.5 times that of Ubese wich are huge already. So don't EVER use more than like 1 special move....or you WILL be the couse of your own death.

Tantel Armor

I was told by a PA member to use Tantel Armor as a Pikeman. I use a Vibro Lance. What do you think.

I think the no armor aproach is the best. I don't wear armor because I don't have any stats to spare. It seems to work really well for me. I'm a transdoshan and my stats are Health & Action 850Mind 900 Stamina is maxed and will power is maxed then what ever is left i give to quickness or focus.

Well if you want armor try the storm trooper or marine armor (depending on what faction you are in). Those have a 30% resistance to all types of damage. I don't use armor though, never had, and not likely to start doing so any time soon.

I personally hardly ever wear armor. Occasionally I'll wear chitin chest plate, forearms and gloves to protect my health in larger engagements, but usually no armor. Doesn't give any substantial improvement that I've seen.

I use either no armor or mabari gloves/ubese boots when PVE'ing. Most hits in PVE come to your health/action pools, and those two pieces of armor have enough protection to be worth their HAM cost. I usually only wear the armor if I'm kililng groups of creatures, like doing baz nitch lairs. Cutting theirdmg in half when they sneak a hit inbetweensweep2s can save a lot of HAM. For faction PVP I usually wear a bone chest plate and helmet with 26% energy resist and lowered HAM penalties. Gotta reduce the headshot damage without jacking your willpower (mind regen) down too much. Mind = life infaction PVP since you can't get it healed. Dueling, I typically don't wear any armor. If I'm getting hit enough in a duel where the armor would help, I've probably lost already anyway. Not getting hit period is key.

All Composite! The higher the HAM restrictions the better!!!

lol, j/k that will get you killed in a heartbeat. I use Chitin when fighting PvE, and Bone when fighting ranged players. Though in big raids like Rebel vs Imperial, or a Guild war, I use a mixture of bone and chitin. My stats for the bone armor is around 28% special to energy, and 16% to electricity and restaint. Chitin is about the same except there are more in the "effectiveness" box. I tweaked certain parts to get the best protection, and don't ever have every body part protected (to save ham costs). like no helm unless against riflemen and peopel who attack mind a lot. and leggings only when i need them. One thing I rarely use is chest armor. too much negatives to HAM.
