Hi,

I am only at Expert Polearms ... working my way to master (about 1/4 of the way there). I am wondering ...

I am only hitting for about 100 - 150 dmg. Even with polearmhit I only rarely get over 200. I am seeing people hitting in the 500 - 600 range a lot and some people talking about THOUSANDS! What am I doing wrong? Do I need to wait until I am Novice Pikeman to see a huge difference?

I use a reinf. staff 49-100 with 4.7 speed. I feel like it is decent.

Any insight you have is appreciated.

Once you get polearmhit2, with your reinforced combat staff which appears to have almost identical stats to the one I had average hit was 350-450, some hits doing 700ish. My best hit as of yet with polearmhit2 with my 81-332 long vibro axe was on a Tusken Raider for 6243. I'd be interested in hearing of other people's best power hit also.

sounds to me he needs a better weapon, if your going for master change your reinforced to a lance, you wont want to go back trust me on that!!!! till they make betetr weapons of course.

yeah ... can't wait for the big hits. Gotta get that level up. I group a bit, which kills my XP. I think I'm going to have to solo for a while if I'm to get my XP up.

the lairs of large dinsours give extrodanary exp. If you can handle them they are more than worth it.

i got like 3378 from soloing a huf dun lair and not much less from a humbaba lair(almost 3K).

If your at expert go find you a Long Vibro Axe with a max damage of around 300, seen them go as high as 331 (got one) then get it sliced. I have laready mastered pikeman and god polearmhit3 is deadly. I have hit for over 6k on some very few occasions. Anyway Long Vibro Axes are the best damaging weapons, Vibro Lances are a good faster weapon but less damage but they equal out to be about the same.

Hey I'm not a pikeman, but I was reading the swordsman forum when I came across this post about a possible upcoming change that involves a 30 second timer for any KD and posture change specials. From what I recall vaguely, but isn't polearmhit3 posture change? Wouldn't that mean it'll have a 30 second timer? Ouch if that IS the case, uh.. you guys have my sympathy. If not.. just ignore me...

If I read what Holo wrote correctly, the 30 second timer is target based and only effects whether the target is knocked down or posture changed. In other words, you STILL do damage from a sweep or polearmhit3 -- but it will only knock the target down once every 30 seconds. Also, since its target based, the target will only fall once every thirty seconds, whether there are multiple people using knockdown or not.

The mob will supposedly "resist" the knockdown during the 30 seconds after being originally knocked down and we will be given a message that tells us this.

PAH3 does stun and lower posture, not knockdown. I have heard no reports of posture changes recieving the same penalties that they are applying to knockdown.

quite simple, your weapon is VERY bad, my vibro lance is 88-286 2.6 and I think its not very good

trying getting a vibro long axe and slicing it, then you'll be doing thousands easily

Health cost 88 Action cost 71 Mind cost 30ish ... Range modifiers for all ranges -55

I miss a lot and rarely do specials, but when I do I can do a 1250 hit

P.S. Miku is a great weaponsmith, her prices for axes are 10k. She's located SE of Coronet in the IceClan territory with the Armorsmith Alyssa (sorry if I get the name wrong)

My LVA was 107-370 @ 4.5 before I got it sliced. 300 max dmg sounds bad.
