Thread: What's a good ranged weapon skill to compliment polemarms and scout traps?
Scout / Brawler(polearm) here. I'd like to combine my scout traps and brawling skill witha ranged weapon so I can slow/immobilize creatures, work them down with a ranged weapon of some kind, and then finish them off with my polearm when they get close.
Any good advice on weapon class (pisto/carbine/rifle) and tactics I can use? Thanks.
Carbine. The Carbine is the ranged equivalent to the polearm. Each combat profession both melee and ranged has a series of specials that work on a specific pool. The exception is unarmed combat which has an attack for each pool.
Pistols and one armed swords focus on the health pool
Rifles and 2 handed swords focuse on the mind pool
Carbines and polearms focus on the action pool.
If you ask me I'd use a carbine. If you use a carbine to bleed the action pool and use a ton of leg shots to drain the action pool once it get's close switch to the polearm and keep hitting that action pool using the pole arm specials but with the benefit ofmelee combat.
