Is there even a class that is the best blocker right now? I think since Pikeman can control 2 sides at once instead of flinging one blade around they should have the best blocking potential of all. It would really make up for the cost of our specials. It would be nice to think of my LVA as my armor instead of having to put on real armor and make my special move costs even worse.

Technically, Pikeman *are* the best blockers. It's just that it doesn't actually work, yet.

I think the blocking skill may be the reason why Pikemen get less toughness than the other melee classes, but it's not really balancing out right now since the skills doesn't work.

The reason you guys get less toughness is because you have "defensive" skills like sweep and stun (defensive, depending on which side you're on, I guess?). All melee classes get a defensive skill, so that's pretty even. Fencing=Dodge, Swordsman=Counterattack (which right now is really just a block), Pikeman=Block.

Just wanted to add there's some debate over whether counter attack acts as a block or if it really counter attacks. None of us swordsmen actually know for sure, LOL.

Counterattackacts just like a block or dodge does. It does not give you a free attack.

Do dodge and counterattack actually work? Because block sure as hell doesn't.

I see a counterattack every so often.

That said, I can't say it happens enough to reallymake a difference in combat.

I've actually seen myself counterattack more times( 2 ) than I've seen myself block( 0 ) in the combat window.

i can say that i have been "counterattacked" by creatures, and taken damage.
