As a tk with kd I have found that after the nerf using kd1 is still more efficient than lunge + dizzy combo. However, I have found that when i lower the posture of my enemy they do not take more damage for being in that posture, (even though the manual says it does.) I've only been able to attack an npc while they were kneeling or prone a few times during all my adventures. The melee damage bonus has applied there half the time though. I've dueled friends while laying prone and kneeling... still no bonus.
My proposal is that they fix postures (induced by whatever) to do what they are supposed to do, more damage for melee and less damage and accuracy for ranged. Simple as that. This seems like a good idea to be but slightly overpowered in some situations (was doing 1500-2k dmg on a prone npc with zerk as a nov tk almost) so the devs could tweek the bonus or something. I'm not a fencer, heavy swordsman or pikeman, but i know that all melee classes get a posture down attack which they use to an extent.
I would like all of your experiences with postures and thoughts to be posted here, this could be the thing that balances melee and ranged combatants (mostly in pve) with the least amount of work for the devs.
I'm posting this in all of the melee forums to generate the most response and catch the attention of its correspondant.
Tenalis - how much damage you usually deal?
I've seen swordsman that does about 3-4k quite often, and sometimes 8k ![]()
The main PvP issue is server-client never being in synch. This affects pve also.
Then kiting.
If you look at almost any brawler thread, you'll see that the almost universal pvp complaint is that we can so easily be kited by marksmen. Knockdown, our only questionable counter to this, is about to be nerfed. Not that anyone can spam it without dieing from the HAM costs anyway.
LOL, they want to nerf knockdown, but no one talks about supression fire. As kiting wasn't bad enough, marksmen can just supress fire and then run.
you guys missing the point if u ask me pvp already sucks for us . knockdown is mainly used by masters in high end game u ever try killing creatures that melee u at 500 a hit with 30 second timer all u guys might as well give up on going for master.
