Thread: Weapons should attack the same pool as specials
one thing i have been thinking about for a while now and have even posted before on this subject is thatevery class that does not attack health with their special moves is less effective. this is pikemen, carbiners, swordmen, and riflemen or anyone that cant just spam special moves.
if you just auto attack a given target you notice that your attacks hit in about a 60/30/10 split, that means 60% hits health and 30% action and about 10% mind. with carbineers and pikemen their special moves hit action but the ham costs are so high that they cant spam legshots or leghits or actionhits. so if your forced to do mostly autoattacks then lots of dammage is wasted on a pool that your notable to bleed. i just about gave up on bleed attacks when i was out hunting nyms because even with 2 action bleeds, one at 600 or so and the other at 1k or so i still killed them by droping the health bar. this is with the only special moves i used being sweep and actionhit 1 and 2. i was basicly told to do more leghits when i brought this up but if i was not a medic then i would not be able to fight as well as i do anyhow.
i think thereal solution is to make weapons attack their special pool more so maybe its like 30%/50%/20% for pikemen/carbineers with things swaped around for the different weapons so it would be 50/30/20 for pistoleers/fencers and 30/20/50 for riflemen/swordsmen. this way you your autoattacks compliment your special moves. it seems to melike the least they can do if they are not going to change the HAM costs.
this would also help us with specials that dont attack a speciffic pool also by having them more likely to attack the pool that compliments their weapon
this just makes sence to me based on the descriptions of the weapons but let me know what you think about this too.
i agree that it is unbalanced, but i think swordsmen/riflemen doing even more damage to an unhealable pool would be a little overpowered.
health bleeders and mind bleeders reign supreme, yet another disadvantage to us poor pikers.
