Thread: Pikemen make yourselves heard!

I would like to start a constructive (Flame free) thread about what the pikemen community needs. We've all been hit hard by the last patch... Lets all make sure that everything is done to correct the mistakes! Here are my pics for the 5 comments:


1. Toughness - We are still getting less then any other profession... Why?


Solution - Give us the +10 toughness we deserve


2.Accuracy Modifiers - Why can't I properly use a weapon I am certified for? (If I cant hit something with any sort of reliablilty... then why am I certified for it?)


Solution - decrease theinsane accuracy penalties


3. Knockdown Timer - Our only effective weapon was nerfed. Is SOE anti pikemen? I personally see the justification of a 30 second PVP timer. But a 30 second PVE timer is crippling.


Solution - Decrease PVE KD timer to less then 10 seconds (in most cases 2 or 3 moves later)


4. Weapon selection - We have only a handfull of usefull weapons. Anything below a lance is basically CDEF quality.


Solution - Give us a wider variety of USEFULL weapons


5. Pikemen Correspondant - I dont mean to flame ANYONE. I want to personally thank SilverSurfer for his work in the current position.However, I dont think he's done a good job at reflecting the wants and needs of the pikemen community. ( I'm not sure but I think Silversurfer has already decided to step down)


Solution - Cross your fingers and hope the next correspondant has pikemens best interest in mind. (im not saying you didnt SS... I know you meant very well)

I started this thread to address all pikemen issuse in a seriuos manner... Not just the knockdown timer. No doubt that KD is one of the bigger issues. I'll Post on your thread as well, if that gets the point accross.I'd to keep some discussion on this thread open as well, however.

It would really help if you posted your support for getting rid of the kd timer for pve on this thread in the SWG Discussion Board:

It is growing fast between flamers and supporters and the more support we have the more nerve it'll take a flamer to post there. The devs actually read this board so if we are to be heard, it will be on this forum.


P.S. Give that thread a high rating. The devs suggested that so that they are more likely to look at it.

I think the HAM costs for special attack with the advanced weapons (vibro lance, and long vibro axe) are still way to high. I seem to be killing myself just as much as the mob that is hitting me. Other thoughts, some might have already been posted.. And i'm sure that some have in other threads.

resisted about 50% (to high) and HAM cost for it is to high (105) Before the patch on 9-4-03 it would last up to a minute. Now, it doesn't seem to last more than 30 seconds, and usually only lasts 15.

Toughness,


Less than any other melee class. I personally think that polearm defence should be second to fencer, fenceing is a defencive art, and so is useing a staff. Why do we have to rely on pets to tank. This is a joke.. (yeah, I know several people will be upset by this, but i really feel that it is a terrible idea) My **edit** Cu-Pa takes damage better than I do now, it seems.


Overall Damage,


I think that the polearm class should hit for just as much as the swordsman class. (don't say, 'well swordsman are useing a slashing weapon, etc, for their best weapon is a hammer, and ours is a axe, go figure) The fact that there bonus is 4x, and ours is 3x is a Joke.


Area attack,


as of 9-4-03 patch they miss much more than they did.


HAM (Health, Action, Mind),


It still boggles my mind to no end why in the world characters dont gain more ham as they progress in skills. And I mean all classes.


Taunt,


Only skill that seems to be working. Probably helps that KD is now an instant taunt too though.



I know there are more things i can come up with, but work is calling.
