It came to me like a flash of inspiration...of course Pikemen are supposed to be totally useless.

I just finished watching Return of the Jedi, and the whole Pikemen issue became clear. I saw many LVA's and some Vibro Lances, maybe even a lance (Imperial Guard?), every single person who carried a polearm was slaughtered. Didn't even get a swing off. The only good use for the lance, apparently was when Han Solo pulled Lando out of the Sarlaac with it.

So, now we know. When we used to be able to defend ourselves, that was the bug. We were never meant to be a battle class, only a fodder class.

Don't be so proud of this technological terror you've created. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.

I think it's actually meant for dancers. I mean they look kind of cool waving the polearms around.

haha, funny, and true about the movies... In episode 2, you can see some lace guys on the mounts get beat up my jedi's and their own mounts... I still like pikeman though

Alright! That isn't true. The only reason that polearms were useless in the movies were because everytime you saw one, it was trying to hit some kickass jedi like Luke. I haven't seen many people solo jedi in this game with any polearm so it is accurate to the movies but that doesn't mean we are useless to something more our level (when I say we aren't useless I mean we weren't useless... after the patch that is a different story).

(Snff!) thank you for providing me with some clarity. I now know my role in the scheme of things. I now feel complete.
