Thread: masterpikeman vs novice commando...

I was out doing some faction pvp stuff, ran into these rebels that kept headshotting and running into their house that they had non public right. I sweep the guy, failed to knockdown, ok that's cool. I'm used to sweeps being broken now. Polearmhit3 him not bad again, nearly kill him and he's been forced to kneel. Here's were it gets great, my combat buffer shows nothing other than getting shot for 60ish and 100ish then I catch on fire and gain health wounds while he was in forced posture down. I can't heal myself I can't meditate, and I happen to be master meditate as well.


I then talk to a few others who ended up in the same cloning center as I did and say something about flamethrowers being over powered. She responds no they aren't, just stay 16m away. I'm think ok then why am I masterpikeman if I have to be fearfull of close range ranged attackers? I mean my god, 64m is bad enough now I have to take it even worse at 16m.


Melee was supposed to be deady at close range and now I see commando taking that roll. Farther more, I continue to see melee range being shortend, now with serverside latency you can't hit anyone running away if you lead them and are 0m and lunge is broken with the kd nerf. All melee should have had 10m to compensate for serverside latency anyhow.


Lastly, being force to deal with deady close ranged ranged combat is bogus and being given wounds that you cannot heal every tick is even more obsurd. Are we going to be fixed as melee or left as firewood for close quarters ranged persons, commandos?

Yep, it's the sad state of the world at the moment - of course, if you even suggest that Commandos might be overpowered, they'll leap on the flame (npi) bandwagon of "we were broken for so long we deserve it"..


Which is kinda laughable, because a pre-buff commando coulddish outthe damage with a launcher pistol and pistoleer specials from 64m away and still be better off than a meleer IMHO

Yep, one of my norm buds is a commando, and he kicks my butt up and down the sidewakl in one shot. He uses flamecone to one shot entier groups of people, meanwhile I run around like a moron. Ahhh the balance..

commando? BH? c'mon...any ranged can easily kill a pikeman....b4 or after the patch

hehe...tonight i saw a novice commando hit a guy for 12k+ damage, and that was what showed up in the combat window. And it said "XXXX hits YYYY with your flamethrower for ZZZZ damage"... my flamethrower?



commandos did an excellent job of going from nothing to spectacular in a very short time. I'm glad they got the help they needed. I just wish pikemen would get a little of that too.
