Thread: PvP Kiting Balancing Suggestion
I never really see anyone comment about this, so I have a suggestion that my group was thinking of while fighting last night.
Why not give all melee's a form of snare, and Pikemen (leg attackers) a form of 'root' ?
This would still allow ranged attackers to attack (unlike knockdown), however it would mean anyone who was dumb enough to let us get in melee range would, for the most part, pay the price? I mean really, basically EVERY ranged profession has a close range shot ability ANYWAYS, why not put it to use?
The reason I say Pikemen would get root, is because with KD nerfed we've lost basically every semblence of our 'advantages'. Pikemen are supposed to be the leg attackers, I don't know about you guys, but I think if I got cracked in the legs by a vibroaxe, It'dbe kinda hard to walk.But that's a whole nother story.

Run speed changes wouldn't help unless it's significant. Even at walking speed, due to the way the game handles 'fudge' space (the devs have said it's 6m, or 10m, something like that, read the dev tracker) even fi your 1m/0m from the person, if they are 'walking' according to the game your atleast 5m+ away. So, all this would do is make people complain abuot having a travel speed advantage =)
I think snare/root works out better because, it's explainable.. your legs are cracked, or being beat on, whatever, you wouldn't be running at full speed.. and because it's avoidable, if you let someone get in melee and break your leg, you deserve to die.
