Anyhow.. I was in AH fighting and goofing off.. My new character is 4/2/2/2 in the Brawler Tree (Workin toward master.. wee)

I was getting owned using my fist by these rifleman so for **edit**s and giggles I equipped my 21-218 4.6 speed lance.. Nothin great, just wanted to have some fun with it..

Anyhow I rush one of the Rifleman and take him down in one polearmhit1.. yes.. Just one. It hit his mind for 600.. How? I don't really know. I'm not complaining though.. Then I proceeded to wipe the floor with 2 pistoleers using it..

This is something that just makes me want to pick up Pikeman again as the new character.. I mean nothings changed, the class is still the same.. But when you sit there getting rocked using unarmed then start decimating with a newbie pike (God knows why.. Maybe it was just a fluke and was my message to pick it up again) ...you start to miss it, even if it does suck.

So to all you Pikemen out there, stick with it. The class has love coming eventually. And god I wish I didn't have to exp the whole tree again......... though I still think it's funny I hit a guy for 600 in pvp with a newbie lance..

FYI: Unarmed brawlers, even at tier IV, do about 60-80 damage per normal hit, and are unable to target any specific pool, and they have no knuckles to buy to help their damage/speed. Crazy-uneven damage at equal skill level is one of their main complaints right now.

This is an idiotic reason to stick with a destroyed profession, on the basis that "love" MIGHT be coming, with no ETA.

I've been melee since release.. mastered all but Swordsman (And may do that. I've done it to novice and then got bored with swinging like a barbarian..)

And the guys weren't stupid, they just weren't aware I had a TEF on them. I don't know if they were all grouped or not.. But the rifleman got one shot.. Other two got owned cause it was in Anchorhead Tavern area (You can't kite in there..)

Also Metroid =P I always do pure melee templates for the most part... (Sometimes I mix in doctor...or others..just for fun)

ATM I'm working toward Master of two elite melees, novice of two.. and master Brawler..

I reitterate my previous statement, they were idiots.

There's no way you had a TEF on them for no good reason what so ever, they must have killed you and you got revenge TEF, or they were killing NPC's in which case they'd be overt, and if your overt and sitting around, AND GROUPED? And get attacked by a MELEE and DON'T RUN they are IDIOTS. Plain and simple.

Please stop posting garbage here. I'm really sorry for sounding rude- but that's exactly what this thread is. Including my posts. Garbage. I'm Master Pike on Lowca, in over 3 weeks I have only seen ONE other pike, who was novice and today quit the profession. Becuase I'm master I fight in PVP EVERY DAY. There is NO WAY, even if you JUMPED them, that they didn't beat you unless they were total and complete morons.

A novice marksman can kill a Master Pikeman if he never stops running. I can prove it. This is the balance of our class. Even with lunge2/knockdown we simply miss too often/do too little damage/can't hold a target down. Don't even get me started on our PVE issues.

Just get a full set of buffs from a Master Doc.. if your on Kettermoor, look me up, ill give them to all pikeman at a discount.. even if it runs you 3-4k from a doc.. they last 3-4 hours, and believe me, you can take out alot.. i was taking turton after turton last night only having to rest for the mind damage i was taking, and i was only wearing a helmet.. a tantel helm at that.. i racked up about 20k exp in 2 hours easy.. at the time, i was a 0-0-0-0 pikeman.. so if your higher up there, you can do far more. im 1-0-0-0 now though.

Dont ever give up.. theres a way to do anything.

i see where you're coming from metroid, but i wouldn't call it a destroyed profession. sure, we have some problems that will hopefully get fixed sometime, but i wouldn't give up pikeman for anything. we're underdogs. we're elite. we're rare. there really are ways around everything. i load myself with doc buffs and spice and pretty much own anything i get near.

if you don't enjoy it, sure give it up. but if you like it, don'tgive it up because it has it's problems.

I love Pikeman, but I won't pretend things are ok. We ARE a destroyed profession. Name one thing we do that is ana dventangeous thing. People pick sand beetles over us in groups. We have two main advantages:

1) Our attacks look great, actionhit2 is cool as heck with a LVA.

2) We're rare. Nothing like being a profession that no one in their right mind would play.

Face it guys, we brought axes to a laser gun fight.
