Got a question for all youup close and personal fightertypes.

Im doing a bit of research and i would like it if you guys could answer a few questions for me,after i get done with my research i will be submitingwhat i expect to be a rather extensive post dealing with the current game balancing issues going on.

So please answer thease questions andalso let me know if i can quote you on what your answers are.

How do you define your role in a group in this game?

I would define you as a tank type (I.E. you hold a mobs attention well the rest of us do damage)

If you agree that your a tank type,

do you think (taking into consideration the defence bonus you get) that you would be able totake the damage that some of the higher level mobs in the gameput out. (im talking in a group setting with healers backing you up, DR. buffs, armor, ECT.)When answeringthis also take into consideration a real time battle, includeas many aspects of real group combat as you can think of (I.E. time it takes a healer toget you a stim, time it takes untill a healer can heal again VS a mob that hits for over 500 every 2 seconds or so)

If youdo not think yourprof could take such damage what could/should be done in order to get your prof to the point where it couldhandle this type of situation?

Thank you for your time and assisting me in gathering some information.

How do I define my roll in this game?

Punching bag, plain and simple. If by tank you mean "having the ability to absorb and defend against large sums of damage while keeping the attention of the mob" then no, I do not define us as a tank. Rather I define us as the guy (or gal) who jumps in and takes the bullet for the other guy. Due to our lack of toughness and defensive skill mods we can't tank. And largley due to our accuracy we can't exactly take out the enemy before they do us in. We are here simply to die for everyone else's sake.

In order for us to tank these higher ended mobs we need higher toughness (we have the lowest of all melee classes) as well as an increase in other defensive skill mods. I understand, however, that on TC there is a new move, Center of Being, that greatly increases our defense as well as increased block skill mod so we may be able to block some of the time (not sure how well that is going atm, though).

My role would be:

in PvE Executioner. I can dish out mass dammage and kill most things in a few shots, but I can't take too much punishment. the Ham costs of specials are too much to really wear much armor and I don't have enough other defence to be a tank. SO eithor I have a pet to tank for me and a healer on stand by, ot its go shot for shot and hope I don't miss on those critical hits.

in PvP my role is distraction. I can't catch up to ranged people, and usually they dish out more punishment than I can take, so I can keep them focused on me and not the rest fo my group.

In eithor case no I'm not a tank.
