I'm a Master Pikeman on Gorath. Been workong on pikeman since day one.

Everyone knows that pikeman were supposed to be a devistating proffesion. We are described as destroying anything within our reach. The only problem with all of this is that it's not really true. If we sneak up on a prone rifleman we can get a nice hit off, but against anything else we are at a sevre disadvantage. Not the brawler disadvantage, brawlers have it pretty hard. Then again it's what we chose, we are worthless at ranges, but once we get close we're gonna put you on your back and smack you around.

The more i look at what Pikeman were supposed to be i see why we have become what we are now. Imagine the Devs just made the most destructive proffesion, in this case the theory of the pikeman, we hit harder than everybody else, we block attacks more than anyone else, we have longer ranges than other brawlers, we can attack multiple enemies at no cost, and we should be able to tank multiple things....

The theory behind us is extremely powerful. So let's say the devs decided to tone us down a bit.

Pikeman weapons are ultrasonic blades, they swath through anything with ease, but they vibrate. Let's make the accuracy tougher.

We don't want damage like what they're putting out to be so easy, they should destroy something but it should be a little harder to hit for that much damage, lets make the Ham costs a little higher, to make up for the crazy damage.

If they can block multiple enemies they don't need toughness, they should be weak but always counterattacking and dodging.

Blocking with a large pole like that is harder than using your hands or a sword, so let's just give their block to another class.

Finally, the Devs just take the damage away. They don't want everyone going pikeman so they tone us down even more. See what we're left with?

In theory the Pikeman would have been the Commando, But five months ago they didn't want commandos(pikeman).

After the release they decided something was needed like that, and because the commandos were voicing their problems at the time the devs saw the opportunity to make a theorized Pikeman. Now because there's so many commandos and they are so powerfull, why bother having two classes like that. They devs will have to deal with balancing more classes out while still giving attention to older classes.

I think we are finally getting some fixes, but the devs have discarded the Pikeman theory, it's been used on another class.

Right now they're just giving us +5 more of somthing another class has. There is no reasoning behind what we shouldbe. It was given away, right now we're getting what other brawlers are getting; Slightly higher stats in different pools.

We missed out guys, and it's not anyone's fault. Just missed out.

I love my proffesion though. Once you master things get a -lot- better, but for the people who don't want to master or don't have the points it's an uphill battle. Hopefully we get some attention to make the proffesion a little friendlier.

On a side note i saw a prime opportunity for a pikeman yesterday, Two Pc's pets were attacking a marksman, i ran in and started my area attacks, i was doing a pretty good job and holding them back. But the Ham issue, block/toughness issue took over. I was killed because i couldn't hold back a mob of two.

All i ask for is Ham, and either toughness or block skills. Take you pick
