I am not going to use specials unless it is bleed or a needed knockdown.

I seem to do ok damage just swinging, and being a medic allows me to heal damage taken.

So start combat and then just swing and heal. Is this a good way to go? If not what specials (besides bleed) do enough damage or keep you from taking enough damage to be worthwile?

I start with KD + warcry.

Bleeds are only useful on VERY high HAM (12k and higher)enemies or when fighting multi-enemies. Since I generally solo enemies around 8-10k ham, I don't use bleed, I just spamleg2 (it's better than leg3). You need2 ticks from bleed before it is better than leg2. That's 30 seconds (right?) by which time I would have already killed them.

It only takes about 3-4 leg2's to kill 10k HAM enemies.

Then I heal myself and wait for mind to regen then kill the next monster.

I would clarify this that bleeds are generally best reserved for very high HAM (12k+) *and* high HAM armored targets. The difference between a faction general with 10k HAM and no armor (2-hit kills oftentimes, sweep+ph3) and a force drifter with 10k HAM and medium armor is evident. Also, if you can KD and then actionhit, you'll get a much better bleed. I had a golden-bleed once that was 7710.

As for not using any specials...sure you can do that, but I don't think that would be very fun. If a target takes 7 auto-attack hits to kill, but may only take 1 or 2 specials, are you really decreasing your risk by just taking the damage you'll inevitably receive versus the HAM cost you'll incur to yourself for those specials? Personally I'd rather use well-placed specials than auto-attack and heal as necessary. Of course, for longer fights, there are times when using too many specials is detrimental (i.e. when mind is getting low).

thanks for the input.

when I was a pistoleer i would have a friend stand behind me and I would just spam either Stopping shot or fan shot depending, he would keep my green bar up there, he is too scared to stand so close to mobs now LOL.

worked great..

atm with my pets I am doing level 42 imp missions, getting 1k-3k a kill, my pets attack the base and everything attacks them except the one I single out, works good with my healing abilities. and my 2 maulers can last longer than it takes me to take them down one at a time. Think I am going to "bottom feed", good thing I had 190k combat exp saved up so I could get the +20 accuracy right away, makes a hella big difference, though I still miss a lot. My vibro sliced has a max damage of about 490 ... is that good?
