I d say it depends on your weaponspeed...


if you r sliced for speed, leave stances alone or if lisced for damage, go for stances...


personally I went for speed and left stances alone

The defensive tree is generally the recommended line to go up first.

I would give you another advice - go for Leg Attack 2 first. Then you can for whatever you want (Knockdown presumably), but at a Novice, Leg Attack is one of the best moves... It's great with the Action Bleed 1.
