Thread: what is this a keep hearing about pikeman taking down a krayt
i keep hearing about a pikeman and a doctor being about to take down a krayt .... my friend also saw a post about this in the jedi forums... a way for jedi to get a krayt pearls... is this true ...did something go are way for once ... is this finally a blessing from the pikeman gods

There was some pikeman named Braggart (or something very close to that) who used to post tales of being able to solo krayts. He even had screenshots (which I think were doctored with photoshop).
Since the last patch though, this has been rendered impossible. Taking down a krayt now requires many doctors/commandos/pets. It is impossible for one pikeman and one doctor to take down a krayt no matter how good they are.
I don't even think this Braglor......errrrrrrrr....Braggart person ever existed. More a myth or legend really.

If two decent pikeMen with above 150 in melee defense group up, they could easily take down aKraytwith their bleeds. You're still able to solo them, it only takes a hell of a long time and chances are you'll need to reapply buffs, bleeds, warcry, etcso many times you'd probably go insane by the time it's over.
A good trick is having the heal state skill and spam /stand and /healstate (macro this) when KD + Dizzied by the Krayt, since that is the actual one time it will have the chance to hitand do massive damage to you(I'm guesing ofcourse the use a 80% kinetic armor). Come to think of it, since Krayts don't disease they are fairly easy if one uses the /healstate skill. You need high end melee defense too ofcourse. Remember to stay out of its range when warcry2s effect is over and it has its ten sconds window.
Oh yes, pick your Krayts carefully, those ancientsand giants one are pretty heavy these days; and by that, I mean totally nasty
arh, this is a bad picture, but it shows how much damage two pikeMans bleeds can do to a Krayt Dragon Ancient(see the action pool). The rest of the group were the usual blastmonkeys, but none except the pikeMen attacked the action pool.
This was done by me and Nereus, both pikeMen and I was at the time 0-0-0-4 pikeMan(just the bleeds). We had both ca 60-70 melee defense and warcry2, and I got KD + Dizzied a lot due to this(a doc healed my states). The rest of the group kept a distance, not having bleeds you can see the groupsresult illustrated by the Krayts health pool. I might addI didn't use armor for this hunt, so when I got hit it really hurt(but then again it's all about tactic and counting the seconds :smileywink

How long does our action bleeds last..... is it something you can apply and back off a bit and let it do its magic? And did each pikemans bleeds count against thekrayt?And why not use the2handed swordman mind bleed ....isnt it much faster?
tru, you need to dabble a few profession to gain the skills needed, but then again who isn't dabbling some sort of class?

i understand i cant solo krayts but does any know how long our bleeds last ? i know the 2 handed sword mind bleed hits hard but i dont think its lasts the long (i dont really know) but has any one tested how long our bleed last (is that maybe a blessingfrom the pikeman gods that our bleed last twice as long or some thing) lol ..i have been a master pikeman for a few months now and have gone toe to toe with and ancient bull rancor and some nasty night sisters.. i know thats no big deal lol but i have also had my ass kick more than a few times so any words of wisdom are greatly welcome
